For years we put up with a slow and balky computer because we did not know the 286 mb of RAM that came with our computer was not enough and was causing the problem. The thing I like the most with the new memory is the meter that tells me how much free RAM I have left. Microsoft should have programmed this feature in long ago and may not even provide it today. My neighbor helped me figure out the problem and kept saying a computer is not like a hammer, but now ours is working so good that I keep thanking him for fixing my hammer.

Was considering a new computer since mine was slow with multiple programs open at one time, loading programs, even at boot up. But thought I'd try doubling the memory to see what would happen, and we're talking a minimal change from 512MB to 1GB. Night and day! I know it's a minimal change but after everything included, for [$], it's the best investment I've made recently. If you have the option for adding memory, I highly recommend it. I had done this previously with my wife's Macbook. We went from 1GB to 4GB so a more noticeable difference but thought it couldn't hurt to try on mine. And again, it was the best thing I've done. It's an 8 year old computer and it's made such a drastic difference. It feels like a new computer. Not sure if that will be the case for most but again at [$] total, worth it. Plus you can't beat the price through Crucial. One note, when you install, at least on my Dell, I really had to apply some pressure to install it. Was a little worried I'd break something but heard the click and was all set.

Complaint was that it took forever playing online interactive games. Machine only had 256 Mb memory, and could hold 1 Gb, so the Crucial finder quickly arrived at the right pieces and sent them quickly. No problem with the install or post install performance, and the lady is now happy enough with her computer that she is no longer talking about replacing it.

I had the opportunity to upgrade a few PCs before I purchased RAM for my own. In all cases the memory upgrade increased the systems performance exactly as described by the scan tool. I run a small PC repair business and in the cases I described above the client was extremely impressed with the increased performance. I would, will, and have recommended crucial.com to everyone I encounter with performance issues. Besides the product being top notch, it is shipped in a very prompt manner where it reaches the purchaser well before the estimated time of arrival.

I have an older Dimension 4550 that was ordered with 256 MB RAM. Even though I'm still running XP, 256 just isn't enough. The disk swapping was killing performance. After adding 2 512 sticks, it's like a new machine. The Crucial memory selection utility makes it very easy to order what you need. Well worth it.

The guys in the office laughed at me when I told them I only had 256 Mb of RAM at home. [$] and 10 minutes trippled my RAM and breathed new life into my dying machine. IE used to bail-out on me if I had other applications running and I was getting virtual memory errors all the time, but this has greatly improved my computer's performance.

Both Crucial and I need to thank the people at Embarq Rescue IT for their recommendation to the Crucial web site. My ten year old computer was as slow as molasses, especially when I turned it on and for forty-five minutes afterward. I finally woke up to the fact that my Norton Anti-Virus Program and half a dozen other "startup" programs were filling up my 256MB of RAM. I dumped Norton and removed the startups from All Programs/Startups. When I installed the two new Crucial 512MB boards in the RAM slots, it was like I had gone out and bought a brand new computer. Very impressed with the speed of Crucial's on-line SCAN to determine my system and upgrade requirements. The cost of the RAM upgrade [256mb --to-- 1GB] was well within my budget. I was a little intimated at first about opening my Dell tower and doing the upgrade myself but every thing went well. Blew out the dust bunnies while the case was open [very little dust for a 6-year old tower]. Have aready recommended Crucial to others.

Crucial saved me a new computer. After bumping my RAM from 215mb to 1g, it's like I have a new computer. Replaced the single 256 with two 512s. Installed the 256 in another P.C. to bring it to 512. Clear and concise on line instructions took any fear away from the change.

Computer was running out of memory (system errors, sluggish, some programs wouldn't work, etc....) I knew what I needed but not the exact type/model (too many sizes and types to choose from). [...] Crucial got my computer back up to speed--and at a GREAT price!! Kudos to these guys!!

I am computer illiterate. Brother suggested site just to see what memory I should go buy at local store. Site worked great but local retailers wanted 2x the $$. Ordered thru Crucial spent half the $ and had it in 5 days. Installation horrifying (computer illiterate...remember, I have NO business being within the actual brain of this thing!)but even that went smoothly. Box works better than ever...have had problems for years, I should have done this LONG ago!

My "clunker" Dell Dimension 4550 was about to hit the boneyard. There were times when starting programs tht I would just walk away for a few minutes until it FINALLY loaded. I installed 1024 MB of the PC 2700 Memory module (2 - 512's) (it had only 256 MB RAM). WOW!!! It runs like new. Programs open very quickly, internet downloads/installations are fast. My old "clunker" is now a "keeper" for a while. AND it was a very easy install. No problem at all and I am certainly not an expert.

Had issues with the kids running games on the internet with the 128MB they had. A freind suggested crucial. The web site was easy to use and took forever to scan my old computer due to the active memory on my computer. New 1GB of memory arrived [...], was easy to install and now the kids are crusing around the internet faster than my newer HP does. Maybe I need to go back and upgrade it too.

What a difference going from 256mg to 1G in RAM. 5yr old Dell desktop I was ready to toss out the window now runs like new. Memory was installed in less than 5 minutes. Very very satisfied!
