I chose Crucial memory upgrades on their excellent price structure and the fact that I would be getting genuine Mac memory modules.
I also liked the Crucial MacScanner which told me exactly what each upgrade would do and how much it would cost - something you don't see with other memory stick suppliers.
The best bit is though "it did exactly what it said on the tin"
The module I was sent came with precise instructions, and I was able to fit it myself, having fitted extra memory into an earlier iMac I had some years ago.

I'm a music producer.
I've been think about buying a new mac for a while but when i saw this cheap ram and thought i'd give it ago. Now Logic Pro 8 runs much smoother and i can even have safari open when working. I went from 512mb to 2gb and it should keep me going for another couple of years.

Not too sure how much difference having an extra 1 gb memory has made, I think I should have bought 2 x 1gb & took out the 512mb! I was hoping photoshop would be loads faster but it's not - but at least it isn't 'freezing' :) If you're debating whether to pay out for the extra & 'match' memory I would say definitely!

My son uses the G5 and it had extreamly slow performance. He uses it for emails, face book, downloading songs and videos from Itunes. As the owner of a 1.8Ghz G5 iMac, I was looking for a quick and easy speed increase. I edit a lot of HD video and I wanted to squeeze every drop of power from my iMac until I can upgrade to a more powerful dual-core iMac or Mac Pro.

My machine had come with 2 512MB memory sticks, but having recently upgraded to OS 10.5 and installed a 1TB Hard Drive, I wanted to max out the RAM as well - especially as I go could go a whole gigabyte higher than the current configuration. RAM for this model iMac had recently dropped in price considerably, so it was the perfect time to maximise it to the full 2GB my G5 model is capable of.

The first G5 iMacs are extremely simple to open up and the RAM was a doddle to fit. Simply unscrew the case, swap out the memory and screw back together. Took about 5 minutes and was well worth it. The extra gigabyte made a huge difference and OS X feels much more responsive. Applications are much faster, which is great for rendering video or authoring DVDs. Games run better and faster too, with more detail enabled.

Remember - the iMac likes both it's memory slots to be filled with identical RAM for best performance, so you may need to but two sticks to give your iMac the maximum boost - but at today's prices, who's complaining? A very simple upgrade that is well worth the money and a great way to breathe new life into a four year old computer.
