NO noticeable increase in laptop speed [maybe just the processor and the dreadful bloated useless Vista system preinstalled] SP1 seems to wreak havoc with most processors and their power management systems...look in the technet forums under error ID 6. Microsoft are deafening by their silence on the issue and their lack of response and/or a hotfix. Uninstall SP1 if you can and all the errors disappear as if by magic.
Makes you wonder why Windows 7 is rumoured to be available as early as 2009 as a possible SP2...hmmmm!!
