I installed two of these kits in my Power Mac G5, which was badly in need of an upgrade. Rendering is much faster in Final Cut Pro now and I haven't had any crashes since the install, whereas the machine used to freeze regularly while I edited. Very pleased with the product.

The 4GB max for this G5 model used to be great, but I wish the hardware would allow for 2GB DIMMs to be installed. For a computer this old it still is holding its own though.

We got a G4 for free from a school my husband teaches at, but they had stripped it down to the basics -1GB. I downloaded Crucial program which identified what Memory kits I could use. I choose the one I wanted and ordered it. Putting it into the computer was very simple. I had done it before with other computers so I didn't even check the manaul. On this model you just have to push really hard until it snaps in and the clips can close. The computer is working great now. It's amazing what adding more memory can do. Everything is much faster, even the monitor looks better. It's really simple don't be afraid, just follow the directions in your manual.

I upgraded my now several year old Power Mac G5 from 2 GB memory to 4 MB. The increase in speed and general performance of the same machine was remarkable. It was a great and inexpensive investment... should have done it a long time ago. I've bought memory over the years from Crucial and it has always worked perfectly in my Macs. This did the same.

Just to start out the prices were great! But this is also for a high quality product!

Second, if you have a Mac, dont scrimp on quality. Since I was recommended Crucial through my mac repair expert (a guy i dont really see much to be honest because my Mac has been rock sold for over 4 years) I immediately visited their site. The Mac RAM upgrade process is a breath of fresh air compared to PC upgrades. Part of my enjoyment with the process no doubt has to do with that but Crucial has been there for us with a good product. Our Mac is a power-horse thanks to Crucial!

I do recommend getting the wrist band with all Ram upgrades. I would recommend Crucial to offer a reusable wrist band for sale and give the disposable away with all RAM purchases over $100 or so. Just an idea. I have had PC mobos burned out because of not having one. Boy do i regret that! So, to make it short- always get one of those if you are sticking your hand in a computer!

The packaging is tricky to open and you have to make sure the ram is arranged right or it won't show up in your system, but overall I'm very satisfied
