I've got an early 2008 iMac, 2.4 GHz processor that originally had 1GB of RAM (800 mHz). It was running fine until I started asking more of it. Finally decided to pick up the RAM and max it out at 4GB. Even though most people would consider my computer to be pretty old, it's functioning incredibly well. The increase in RAM helped out when we were running multiple applications (always!), and especially when using iPhoto or importing from our new Flip camera. As soon as I've got the free time, I'm looking forward to using iMovie again; the increased speed is really going to help with the processing of all our old home video.

Everything - and I mean everything! - is running faster and smoother. Boot-up is done in a fraction of the time. Starting new programs is a snap. I only regret not upgrading sooner.

Installation is so simple! Apple has clear instructions on how to install the RAM at the support site, and the only tool you need is a small Phillip's Head screwdriver. (DO print off the instructions ahead of time; it's good to have them before you start.) The only thing you've got to be careful of is purchasing the correct RAM, which is also simple because of Crucial's easy-to-use scanning program.

You simply cannot go wrong, especially with the pricing.

Choosing this part was somewhat uncertain. The mac scanner didn't work on my machine and it was not clear to me how to know my machine was a MB323LL/A version of the iMac. I chose this one based on the 800 MHz speed and my mac reporting that it has a 800 MHz bus in "About This Mac".
Installation was easy, just one screw to loosen and a tape to pull to remove the original 1 GB part that came in the machine. So I was able to bring my machine up to 4 GB of ram.

It couldn't be easier to install more RAM in my iMac. I shut it down, took out the old board, slid the 2 new boards in and turned it back on. 4 gigs of RAM replacing 1.

Great RAM upgrade. Went from 1gb on our iMac to 3gb with this 2gb upgrade. Used Crucial's analyzer program to let it determine our install options. Removed one screw on bottom of iMac, inserted the 2gb Ram card and worked perfectly. (theres some easy tutorials on youtube on how to do this also)

Now I can run iMovie 09 much smoother, and work with 720p HD video, AND run Safari and other multiple programs simultaneously! Great upgrade & great price.

We had purchased a 20" mac with 1gb of ram. I thought adding additional ram would help avoid the wheel of delay, but was afraid it would be complicated to upgrade on my own and just had no interest in carting the sucker into the Mac store to pay them 2-3x what it cost.

I looked at the online videos and was surprised about how easy it could be to upgrade. Took literally 5 minutes and the improvement for us has been noticeable. We now have 3gb of ram and things are zippy.

Simply mad that I waited a year to do this simple upgrade. Wondering how many minutes we wasted watch that darn circle all year.

I had one slot with a 1GB module. The second slot was empty.
I replaced the 1GB with the 2GB I purchased and put the other 2GB that I purchased in the empty slot. The computer would not start.
I put the !GB back in the original slot and it worked. I then replaced the 2GB with the other and it still worked. Replacing the 1GB with either of the 2GB caused it to fail. So I ended up with 3GB and one of the 2GB as surplus. I assume that the Apple modules would have worked.

I upgraded my Intel iMac from 1GB to 3GB of RAM and noticed a marked increase in speed and responsiveness, although I wouldn't say the machine was slow to begin with. More memory is the cheapest way to speed up your computer. I increased the memory in my iMac from 1 GB to 3 GB, so now I can have three times as many things open in various windows before the processor has to start swapping stuff to disk (much slower) to make more room.

Every Mac owner should max out their memory. Crucial memory has the best quality/price point on the market. Crucial is the brand I've used in every Mac since my first 512K "Fat Mac", purchased in 1986.

This is the easiest it has ever been in adding memory. The crucial evaluative software tells you exactly what type of memory that you already have in your machine, the type to order and then how to install it when it arrives. Simple stuff!!!

I just use my iMac for basic stuff nowadays, but after installing the 2GB strip, I could immediately tell a difference in load times for applications and switching between multiple applications! Good RAM. Easy to install. Very reliable.
