I use my Mac X mostly to check e-mail or do WORD projects.
It is older and I did NOT want to replace it since I have a PC laptop for business.
My Mac never use to give me trouble but I did something(?) to make it work better but.....
So I took it to the A---- store and the 'genius's' there pointed me to crucial.com since they do not work on older models...lucky for me!!!!
I could have gotten by with just one kit but it was so reasonably priced that I purchased the 2 Kit!!!!!!
I am so HAPPY!!! and so is my almost obsolete(not anymore!) Mac!!!!

The early 2006 Apple Imac had 512 Mb standard. To install Snow Leopard a min of 1Gb RAM was required. I decided to extend the future use by installing2Gb of RAM. I am now enjoying better performance along with the up to date Snow Leopard.

Crucial's system diagnostic thing recommended this memory for our iMac, so we got it. Runs super fast now, totally reliable. Just the right thing, and no complaints from me at all. Once I found some Youtube videos to explain it, it was easy to install, too.

Had to add memory to upgrade and older iMac. Took this machine from Tiger to Snow leopard. Originally this iMac only had 512mb so Upgrading to 2GB was a huge improvement. Crucials search option is very easy to use and made finding the memory I needed very simple. Transaction was very easy and shipping was fast.

I had two install the ram twice, maybe some dust got in there the first time. The machine gave me an error message. I took the ram out and blew some compressed air and put the ram back in. Worked great then.

I have noticed a huge difference in the speed of my computer and thus my production.

I replaced memory in an iMac Early 2006 model, which formerly had 500 meg in one slot. I upgraded to 2 1-meg cards, based on the Crucial utility. The memory went into the iMac compartment; however the clip mechanism was *really* hard to close. (I wonder if the chipset was a bit larger). I was afraid to close it -- it felt like it would break the new memory. I was going to leave the compartment open, since the iMac system utility showed 2 gig of working memory, but it looked rather ugly.

Finally I took a deep breath and jammed it closed. Luckily everything still worked and the iMac is at max capacity. However I don't plan to ever take the memory out again, and don't know if I'll be able to.

I bought my first generation dual core Intel processor iMac second hand after my last iMac's power supply went to sleep permanently. During the hard drive data transfer I had my Apple techie install this memory upgrade. I can't speak for the ease of install but she had no complaints about the job. Although I had test run the mac when receiving it before the upgrade, I think I can detect faster performance. It streams net media well, runs simultaneous applications easily, seems smooth to me.

The ordering process from Crucial was painless and quick. The memory was easy to install and I noticed an instant improvement. The only heads up I would give is to make sure when inserting the memory not to allow the small release bars to close before the memory is all the way in. They will close on their own when both sims are in place. If they do close you will need to remove them and reinsert them.

As another reviewer stated I should have done this long ago. Really notice the increased speed - especially with multiple applications and pages open. Very, very easy to install, a couple of minutes max. Initially it did not read one of modules as I did not have it pushed in all of the way, so I just reopened and reinserted and everything was fine. My large library in I-Photo no longer crashes. The system now seems to run faster with multiple programs running. One of the two memory cards went flying upon opening the package, dropping onto the edge of an open desk drawer and then onto the carpet below, but it still worked fine. Very easy precess to scan my system and find out what I needed. I did need to call customer service (which was excellent) to get help with installing them. The service rep talked me through it and got everything working in less than 5 minutes. Basically, had to push pretty hard to get RAM inside the compartment... which I was afraid to do.
