The RAM I bought works perfectly. I did have to do a bit of research on how to install it properly, and it might have made my job easier had the RAM come with installation instructions, but with a little research, I had what I needed and my computer runs 5 times as fast as it did.

There is never enough memory and always looking for ways to increase my G5 performance and a colleague of mine turn me onto Crucial memories and glad he did. But I just don't understand why the prices for older memory are so unstable...Never the less I got the best deal on the memory from Crucial. Thanks.

I can't honestly say whether this was the fault of the new memory or just the normal expiration of a 7-year-old G5, but when I blew the dust out and put the new memory in my trusty G5 tower, it booted up (flakily) once, then one of the CPUs died. I had to spend $4000 on a new computer :( Still have the replacement memory - anyone want to buy it cheap? Hardly used![...]

So I had my first recording session last night after installing the second set of chips from Crucial. My newly acquired G5 is definitely a ProTools powerhouse now, even for a small set up like mine. Recording, editing, recording while editing-everything was a breeze. A lot better performance while adding and using multiple plugins as well. Good show Crucial.

Having installed the Leopard operating system on my PowerMac G5 with only 1.5gig of memory I was having all sorts of problems. My Mac would not shut down unless I did it manually. I honestly can't say a bad thing about the 2GB upgrade to my mac. I was running a single 256MB RAM stick and i could only run one program at a time but ever since I upgraded to 2GB, everything runs so fast and smoothly. I can now multitask no problem. I've purchased RAM from a couple other companies in the past, and had to send it back because of failure to work. I've used Crucial the last two times and no failure, just works. I use applications such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, iMovie, Illustrator, etc... the more RAM I've got the faster these applications run. Right now I've got 4.5GB of RAM in my PowerPC G5. I'm thinking of making it a full 8GB. RAM is so freaking cheap now, I LOVE it! Buy from Crucial, I doubt you'll be disappointed.
