Comments about Crucial 512MB Upgrade for a Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo T (3 DIMM sockets) System:
I wanted to increase the speed of my Pentium 4 PC. After using the Crucial scan, I bought 2 x 512MB modules, as I didn't think my motherboard would accept a 1GB module. I found that my PC would only accept 1 x 512 module, but the speed did improve noticably. However, with 2 modules of 512, it wouldn't boot. After a couple of emails with Crucial Customer Support, they advised that the RAM was too fast for my old motherboard, but that it would accept a 1GB module. So I bought a 1GB and sent back the 2 x 512s. They were dead right, my PC works fine with the 1GB, and is much faster. So for [$] quid I've extended the useful life of my PC! It's obvious though that the Crucial scan tool isn't fool proof.
