As a 65 year old "computer idiot" I am amazed at the difference that going from 512 meg memory to a 2 gig memory does-instead of waiting 9 mins to load it is now less than a min,I wish somebody had told me earlier. Even my wife has stopped sweaing at "that useless bit of junk in the corner" so I say thanks-you saved me a lot of grief

I got fed up of slow performance and reboots so I upped the memory to the 2 gig maximum for my Dell Dimension 3000. If your old PC is getting a bit slow and tedious, don't waste money on a PC upgrade just fit extra memory - wow, what a difference an extra 1gb makes when you previously only had 256mb!!

He surfs web, edits photos and does instant messaging mainly, but before the memory upgrade spent the majority of his time at the computer waiting for it to finish other tasks.
