The memory does help the performance of this computer. I had trouble bringing the computer out of standby and hibernate modes with this memory upgrade. Crucial Tech Support had me uninstall the VGA driver and reinstall it with the new RAM installed. The computer now works pretty much normally. Occasionally, the computer does not always restart the first time I press the power button. When I hold the button down and remove the power and then restart it comes out of the hibernate mode... weired but it works.

my EEPC now boots up and loads pages more quickly, but I can no longer use the battery pack when I am not near an electrical outlet. Every time I try to boot up the computer using battery my screen freaks out and blurs until I shut down, remove battery, and wait until I am again near a power outlet to boot up. So the upgrade was a big trade-off...more or less six of one; half dozen of the other

I bought 3 2GB upgrade chips for three EEE PC 900/XPs. Installation was super easy and XP recognized the memory upgrades. But there is now a constant problem in all three machines with the video display when on battery power. Shortly after Windows loads the lcd display goes crazy, with strange color bars all over, rendering the computer unuseable. Computers work fine on AC power.

Crucial Tech support suggested reloading the video driver but it did not provide a fix. ASUS Tech support has not been able to provide a fix. Suggested fixes were to reinstall APCI driver, BIOS, video driver. None of the suggestion elimintated the problem on any of the machines.

Most likely not a Crucial problem since many other users report on the ASUS forum page the same problem with the lcd display while on battery after 2GB upgrades.

They claim that this RAM is compatible with the Asus EeePC 900. It has the same issues that non-factory RAM has. Whenever you unplug the power, the LCD craps out. I did the update that would supposedly fix this issue and it did nothing. Everything is good as long as your don't switch power.

If I switch to battery mode (unplug charger) while netbook is running, the screen display becomes garbled. Only remedy is to shut down PC.

Memory chip caused eee pc 900 to lock up and display to flicker. Went back to original 1GB chip and system works without any problems. After further investigation, many eee 900 users have had trouble with this Crucial memory module.
