I installed the product in about 45 seconds, rebooted my computer, and poof, it woke up my computer. I was ready to buy a new computer, but after upgrading the RAM to 2gb I have found that my computer operates like new again. Its easy to install, and was 100% right the first time. Use the scanner tool and order yours dont buy a new computer, revive your old one.

I had done as much research as I could previous to choosing the correct ram, so I came to the site with a good idea of what I needed.The machine is old and they told me to to try going up to 5300 that my machine should run with that.I was nervous but they were right it runs fantastic as it only had 512gb before.Ive never installed ram but saw the ports and fig'd it cant be that bad.I read up on it (online) and snapped it in there and voila my pc read the new ram fine and it runs like a new pc. For me the net is even faster, plus opening other programs (photo editing etc).I called mfg number on outside of my tower because my tower is generic, they gave me the base info. Cruicials search couldnt place me but once I gave them what mfg stated they guided me right.I like the warranty too.[...]

I use a 4 year old Compaq Presario that had become painfully slow due to the puny 512MB installed by the factory, and opening any more than 3 windows/tabs would bring it to a crashing halt. While researching upgrade options, I stumbled onto Crucial's website at the last minute. GREAT unexpected find! Not only did the scan software identify the type of memory I needed, it was actually faster and less expensive than what I was a few clicks away from buying. I placed my order of a pair of 1GB modules[...]. I'm about as technically unskilled as a person could be, but thanks to the easy-to-follow installation instructions on this site, the memory install was about as difficult as changing a pair of light bulbs! My computer fired right up and recognized the new memory upon start-up, and now it runs even better than it did when I first unpacked it from the box it came in. Why would anyone buy memory anywhere else but at crucial.com? PS...i'll be ordering another couple of modules to upgrade my laptop in the VERY near future, and i'll tell anyone looking to purchase memory to look no further than here!

I am using an e-Machine computer, several years old, running a 3.33GHz Intel Celeron chip and Windows XP with SP3. I had 1GB of memory (2 520MB cards) with a pair of slots open. I was told I could not add more than another 1GB of memory as my computer would not recognize more than 2GB, but when I added this pair of 1GB memory cards, and left the old pair in place, my computer immediately recognized that 3GB of memory were installed. More importantly, everything runs much faster now and, when e.g. copying large files, I never run out of memory now, as I frequently did before. I'm no tech, so I appreciated Crucial's website. It lets you enter your computer model and then tells you the kind of memory you need. I did a little extra research beforehand, so it was clear to me that Crucial's recommendation was correct. The instructions Crucial also supplies took away my fear and gave me the confidence to open up my tower and operate. The memory I got is just what the doctor ordered. My computer gets the slows much less often.

I needed to speed-up my desktop computer so my daughter went straight to Crucial and ran their scan on my system to find out the max RAM that would be compatable with my motherboard and the Bios. She was right, it was fast and I was quickly shown all the options and prices for my upgrade. She compaired prices on other web sites but crucial's had the best price. So I chose the product I wanted, a matched pair of RAM chips, paid for it with my PayPal account and I received my RAM in less than 5 days. My daughter installed the new RAM and it was recognized by my computer on start-up. My computer is performing the way I wanted. You can't ask for anything better than that.

As usual, this purchase from Crucial was without second thoughts, buyer's remorse, or bouts of vertigo associated with that first push the power button after installation. You do your research (which is far easier with Crucial than with other vendors), place the order, slide in the DIMMS, and enjoy the new speed and performance. My fairly middle-aged motherboard has a new lease on life. I run Ubuntu (Linux), by the way, and am very satisfied with how well the whole package works with 4 solid GB from Crucial.

I used this product to upgrade a business computer because it was slow. The memory installed easily and was recognized instantly but I did not notice an increase in performance. I ended up turning off programs running in the background to speed the computer up. Maybe its not the memory but something else limiting the perfermance, I dont know.

This replaced a failed DIMM. It is not identical to the previous DIMM - only one side has chips and only 1/4 of the total number of chips from the previous DIMM. My motherboard doesn't seem to notice any difference.

I bought my son William a new pc about 2 years ago. Now that he's entering into College and his pc having only 512MB of Ram was really slowing him down when it comes to school projects etc. Running the "scan my computer" on the crucial website made it so easy to get the correct ram for his pc. He now has 2GB of ram thanks to crucial. And just to mention the price was very reasonable for 2 sticks of 1GB ram.

I just installed a pair of these 1GB modules.
Installation only took about 15 minutes and my computer recognised the additional memory immediately.
I use several audio and video recording programs and had some problems when several windows were open at the same time. THE PROBLEM IS GONE.
Recording and editing is much faster.

I would purchase from Crucial again!

Decent ram, back when I bought it. Of course, now it's not even worth your time. Don't waste your money on this, given what RAM prices have done lately. For some reason, they think that obsolete tech should cost MORE lol. It is getting less useful, as DDR3 prices fall. Yet for some reason, they want over twice what I paid for it, these days. Do yourself a favor and just buy a used stick of this stuff off of [...] or something, and save youself a bunch of money.

Better than Crucial is difficult.

I had updated an older desktop with DDR memory and it increased performance greatly. So I then decided to upgrade my HP dx2200 mt, from 512MB to 2GB. I tried a number of other brands of memory and each time when I tried to boot up after installing the DDR2 SIMMs the internal speaker started 'beeping' and thats as far as it got. They all stated that they met the specs as documented in the Hardware Reference Guide as published by HP. After some research I saw a blog on the internet that crucial was able to help someone else successfully upgrade their memory after trying other brands (also a HP dx2200 MT) so I decided to give them a try. Desktop booted up first time and works great. They deliver what they promise. Thanks.

I used my latest purchase from Crucial to upgrade my system RAM from 512 meg. to 4 gig's and the difference in performance was great! After migrating to Windows 7, my memory resource meter was red-lining almost 100% of the time--i.e., before the memory upgrade. Now it rarely tops 50% memory usage, and the graphics are incredible! [...] That was better than expected, and it is another reason why I'll be back for more business with Crucial.

I saw on the web sight that if you have a 64 bit OS you can max out the memory but that is not the case sometimes. It said I could use 8G so I got 4G but my computer only see's 3G. Yes, that is wasted money.

Before running out and getting a new computer because your current one is slow, consider a memory upgrade. If your computer is swapping out to the hard drive a lot, a memory upgrade will provide a bigger performance boost than a faster CPU. I trust Crucial for all of my memory needs. They always provide me with the right memory, and they usually have older types of memory that other companies no longer carry.

I wanted to get faster application loads and response time, plus quicker boot on our Lenovo A55 (9636 2PU) Desktop. It had 1 gig of memory. This brought it to 2. There might be a very slight increase in speed, but almost unoticeable. I have XP Professional. Primary applications are MS-Office, Visio, Quickbooks Professional (which is painfully slow) and Quicken, which is reasonably fast. I have used Crucial many times, and am not dissatisfied. Just wishing that the extra memory would have helped more.

I had to purchase Adobe Creative Suite 4 for my daughter's class to run on an older Pentium 4 HP desktop. Crucial's memory kit increased the memory from 1GB to 4GB by removing the older slwoer 2x512MB SIMMs and adding 4x1GM SIMMS. The software now performs much better. I was able to reuse the 2x512MB SIMMS in an older Dell taking its meemory from 1GB to 2GB, making its performance better too. All in all, a painless upgrade with only positive ends.

I was unsure which module to buy, but the CSR at Crucial contacted me promptly and helped me out. I must say that my computer definitely improved with the RAM upgrade, a 1 GB RAM module.
I have recently made another computer purchase, and I was able to save by not ordering the RAM upgrade from the manufacturer and ordering from Crucial instead.
As an aside, I ordered a flash drive at the same time, and it works flawlessly.

I installed (2) 1 gig sticks in my mothers pc. The hard drive was almost full and was so slow that it would upset you to try and use it. It would take 15 minutes or more to load windows after turning on pc.The pc is amazingly faster now and can multitask with ease.I can now load windows in less than 3 minutes fully. I Would highly recommend their memory sticks. Thanks guys for matching me with the proper memory and I will come back for any future needs AAA++

I bought my Alienware area 51 with (2) 512 meg chips 4 years ago. I recently wanted more memory and didnt want to wade thru the different companies with the same memory specs. I called Alienware, then on their recommendation I went to Crucial web page and bought (4) 1 gig chips. I am completely happy with the increased performance, and installing them was easy! The product works great on my emachines t5082. I was sad at first when I found out that my mother board only supported 2gb of ram but boy did it really help out, and crucial identified the better memory than OEM reccomended! I bought a total of 2G RAM to increase performance and speed. I have noticed that it loads programs a little faster and opens internet pages quicker but not as much as I had hoped for. All in all, at least it's better than what I had before.
