Site quickly scanned my laptop & made suggestions for upgrade. Once I decided, I ordered online & recvd it quickly. Took longer to remove back panel than install. Did a quick rescan to ck, showed the upgrade. Whole process very easy!

This was an upgrade to an ACER Aspire 5000 laptop which is nearly 4 years old. I was about to buy newer one since the 500 MB of memory it came with was increasingly inadequate. Upgrading the memory to 2 GB has made it *much* more useful, even with the relatively "heavy" openSUSE Linux distribution which I mostly use on it.

I was hoping to increase the performance and speed of my Acer laptop by purchasing and installing two 1GB memory cards to replace the two 256MB cards that came with the laptop. The one positive comment that I have is that the cards were easy to install. Otherwise though, no real noticeable improvement in the speed that my laptop operates. I would not recommend this purchase.

the RAM selection wizard took out the guesswork for picking the right modules.
The extra memory allowed me to run very CPU-taxing 3D software without a problem.
