The whole process was simple and quick. Using the online software I worked out what I needed and added an earthing strap to my order. Prompt delivery meant I was able to instal quickly. When the PC did not start first time I retried to instal and the instructions specified a certain amount of force to push the memory module into its socket. This did the trick. Well done Crucial.

My PC was slow because it had 512 RAM, [...] told me to go onto Crucial Web site and check out what memory I had and what was required. I did, ordered my 2 x 512 RAM, [...]I fitted it myself. And switched on and my PC is sorted. If you can put a fuse in a 13amp socket - you can do it yourself.

For some time my old computer has complained that it needed more memory but being 70plus I was hesitant to order and strip down the machine to fit it.The web site offered a tool which examined the computer and offered various solutions with click ordering. This was invaluable and took the guesswork out of what to order. The parts arrived promptly and I found out how remove the old ones to fit the new. My old machine now boots up very fast by comparison and performs as if it was new so I have regained a satisfactory machine for less than £20.00.

the initial on site tester of my system allowed me to identify exactly the type of Ram that was used inside my pc without opening the PC...and from there i orderded the exact ram for my system...it was just incredable...and My sytem is faster and so reliable now..

The product was very useful to use, as I only had to open the side cover and done!! The things that was so great about this is that it is true in what it does! I brought 2 of 512mb of RAM and wow,it increased my desktop pc tremendously! I coulden't believe it everyting I opened popped up in seconds. Usually it would take house to load! And there was nothing bad about this product everything was great! I would definetly reccomend buying from CRUCIAL.COM!

Good reliable online analysis of memory required. However, since install and my son using for games the system reboots unexpectedly losing his game progress. This issue has only started since my memory upgrade was installed. Increased performance but at the cost of reliability, continuity and user experience.

Changed the start up time from 20 minutes to 2 minutes. Virus checkers have become very memory hungry and 1GB memory is not sufficient for the average desktop running XP.

The whole process of - running the 'wizard' to determine the memory upgrade I needed to improve my Windows XP performance; placing the order; receiving the order; installing the new memory card - worked very smoothly and quickly. The end result is that my hard disc and CPU fan are mostly running quietly instead of frantically whirring to cope with the insufficient memory. Much cheaper and easier than buying a new computer!

Just needed to give the kids computer an extended life of 18 months or so without the time consuming effort and costs of buying a new PC and installing all their "bits" on it (not to mention mine!) Crucial is a well known Brand Name so no problem there. My problem was finding the right RAM for my ageing P.C. I didn't fancy wading through long lost manuals etc. It turned out I didn't have to. The Crucial website provides a downloadable utility that does all the hard work for you and then suggests all possible options for your guidance.

Best thing is the memory analyser program which works out memory upgrade options, as I would not other wise have known what specification was required. Installation not easy, as instructions wrongly state that it should be pushed in to place without assisting the clips in any way. In fact it is necessary to open the clips on the slot before installation is possible, and then close clips afterwards.

I bought 2 of these, and I also use a very similar one made by Samsung. I now have 1.5Gb whereas before I had just 512Mb. Using XP my PC is absolutely fantastic, It was so slow before almost to the point of being unusable ( it really was that bad, and yes it is quite an old computer )now it flies, breathing new life into it. If you have the same problem then go for it, you won't regret it. Don't mess about though make sure you up the memory so it's worth doing,at least double it, that way you will gain a real boost in performance. I highly recommend these.

Used the chips to try and fix unstable PC and also upgrade to 1GB from 512MB.
Computer speed now much better but unfortunately the computer is still unreliable as there seems to be a different problem (probably video card linked) causing RAM errors via Blue Screens of Death; nothing to do with the new RAM chips though. Time for a new PC I think!!!!
Would recommend using Crucial for RAM upgrades.

My computer was having serious memory issues and became so slow it became extremely frustrating. We were afraid to install the product ourselves as we are not pro's but decided since we had made the decision we need a new computer we went ahead and installed. I cannot believe I waited nearly a year to do this. My computer is lightening fast after installation and I don't have to 'repair' my wireless internet to connect every time - it is available immediately now. It appears that faulty RAM was supplied. It did not work and I had to take my PC to PC World who eventually diagnosed deflective RAM. They replaced with their own and my PC now works fine!!

Yes there is cheaper memory out there but just the reassurance of the Crucial guarantee overides the couple of quid you might have saved on auction sites etc plus having bought twice from crucial and both times trouble free would be hard pressed to go elsewhere.Buying online can be daunting even frustrating when things go wrong so I am not prepared to risk third party for meagre savings.Stick with them that knows!

Inserting the new memory was easy, and having doubled the RAM from 512 to 1 GB, I really notice the difference when working with documents.

Fixed a very slow running XP system. Haven't found a Linux distro I can't load on to this box, found several before the memory upgrade and Window XP was so slow to load and run it was unbelievable.

My home PC is three years old now and the original 512Mb of RAM although adequate for most operations has shown its limitations when editing photos in Photoshop Elements. I therefore decided to try the easiest and most cost effective action of a memory upgrade to double the RAM. Although this was by today’s standards a modest increase it seems to have been the answer to my particular problem. As I had already carried out a successful memory upgrade some time ago on an earlier PC I had no hesitation in returning to Crucial. I found the web page very clear and easy to navigate which to a non technical person is most reassuring, and with the aid of the Crucial scanner tool I was able to quickly make my choice and order. Easy to fit (once I'd moved the desk, unplugged all the cables, got the PC out, hoovered it, installed it, plugged all the wires back in & put the desk back!)
