This Memory made a big difference in my PC's performance. It was difficult to install, but only because of the way my PC's internal parts are situated.

My old Dell Dimension 5150/E510 Desktop (purchased in early 2006) had 1GB out of the original 2GB just recently fail, so I decided to purchase 4x1GB of these modules. Although this model isn't listed specifically as compatible with my desktop/motherboard model via Crucial's memory matching app, when I looked at the Dell website they were selling memory modules with similar specs as this one at much greater cost. So I took a chance, and found the Crucial memory backwards compatible with my system. My computer's lifespan and performance has been extended with this cheap upgrade, and I highly recommend this easy upgrade if one would like to squeeze some more life out of an older system.

First time at adding RAM. Strongly suggest visually inspecting existing RAM slots, to understand what you're upgrading from. I assumed I had 2-1GB, and needed 2 more to fill empty slots to obtain 4GB RAM. Instead I had 4-512MB, and now I have 2-512MB and 2-1GB resulting in 3G RAM.

I don't have a lot of applications on board at this time, so it's hard to judge performance. At this point however, I'm getting quick response using MS Windows 7; playing music, and using a handful of Microsoft applications simultaneously aboard my Intel DG33TL motherboard. The memory card is paired with a older Kingston chip, but on a seperate channel. Crucial is on Channel A DIMM 0, while the Kinston is on Channel B, DIMM 1.

I used the memory diagnostic tool on Crucial's website. Shopped around and found that why mess around with no name memory when I could get it from crucial. I purchased two sticks of memory to upgrade an older desktop running Windows XP pro 32 bit from 2 to 4 gigabytes of RAM. The system only sees 3 gigabytes of RAM. It does not make the computer faster, but allows me to load many programs and reduce page file reads,

For many good reasons, I've never built a system that didn't use crucial memory... Great website with a very good memory selection function... Good, live-person, customer support. ...Fast order processing (order status and shipping notifications, tracking)....Rock solid performance and reliability... As a note I have never really purchased the fastest timings as I am primarily interested in rock solid stability; however, given my experience with Crucial's "semi-enthusiast" modules, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Crucial's full blown performance memory modules; but, don't take my word for it, lots of geeky websites have posted their say on this company's memory products....

Crucial got the order out to me right away. I popped the 2 sticks in (after un-overclocking my current set-up...would that be under-clocking??), rebooted, reset the overclock settings, and everything ran well. Have not run any performance diagnostics for exact speed numbers yet.

Ever since I built this computer I was aware that I had not put in enough RAM (Win Vista Home+, only 1 gb RAM). I had major problems with loading and unloading programs and frequent freeze-ups and even BSOD when using apps like Photo-editing. I would have upgraded long ago except that I figured it would be a pain to find out what I needed and to actually get the right modules. The Crucial scanner made it an absolute breeze! I had all sorts of choices and the price was half what I expected. (Can't beat [$] for 2 gb!). Although I know how to install ram, I checked the info on their site first, and was able to shut down, open the case, install the RAM, close it up and restart in less than 10 minutes. When I checked the system info there it was - 3 gb! I haven't had a system glitch since, and the computer starts faster and shuts down in nothing flat. No longer do I get any hesitation when running my photo-edit programs. As you can tell, I couldn't be happier.

Oddly, the online configurator doesn't show my RAM as being low-profile (or even being available in low-profile) but that's what I received and it works fine. My system correctly identified the RAM as 1GB Non-ECC PC-6400, so I know I have the right RAM. I wonder whether Crucial/Micron has added low-profile as an option without updating the configurator. Strange.

I needed another 2 GB memory module kit for an Intel DP965LT mobo. First, I purchased the same part number from another memory vendor that I originally installed. Several blue screens and a replacement kit later, still no luck. I went back to the Intel memory specs for this mobo, and found that the Crucial recommended part was on the tested memory list. A few days later my Vista Business system was happily humming with 4 GB. Crucial is the way to go.

With Crucial's memory scan and suggestions, not to mention very competitive pricing, why shop anywhere else for memory? The suggested chipset snapped right in and worked the on the first boot, as it should be. Going from a 1Gb card to 4x1GB matched made a noticable difference on XP even with everyday tasks. Memory intensive tasks are now turbo'd.

I've been building my own PC's for several years now and have tried memory from other company's. After dealing with compatibility issues and bad ram out of the box, I tried Crucial on a suggestion at a tech BB. Since my first purchase I have had no problems with Crucial's performance or delivery. Sure I can get RAM cheaper (not that Crucial pricing is way high), but I want quality over price. You get what you pay for so don't gamble with others. As my heading says, Crucial is simply the best.

The 1GB, 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-6400 memory stick from Crucial.com made my Compaq Presario SR 5505F pc boot up and turn off much faster, and it was easy to install.

But the Crucial System Scanner tool didn't work for me for some reason, and I tried it several times. It kept saying my pc had all the memory that you could put in it, and that wasn't true. It only had 1 gig of memory in it, and it is capable of having 4 gigs of memory installed in it.

I had to open up my pc to see if it was already installed with the maximum memory it could take, and it wasn't, it only had the 1 gig of memory that a new Compaq SR5505F comes with.

So I ordered this memory stick from Crucial anyways, and I'm glad that I did, because my pc is much faster and more reliable now.

But don't rely on Crucial's System Scanner tool to give you an accurate reading, that's my only complaint.

The memory was easy to install and worked first time. I noticed a good performance improvement, which I think is because now my motherboard is accessing the memory in dual-channel mode. Only downside is Windows XP is only really using 3.2 Gig of the 4 Gig I installed. [...] I guess if it really starts to bother me I can move to a 64-bit operating system.

Crucial used to be the method we purchased Micron MT brand memory. Now Crucial merely adds a "Crucial" sticker to another brand of memory. Sad. I guess we need to change our advertising from "Crucial / Micron" memory to simply "Crucial" memory.

Use for processing large photos (from raw files). Extra memory enables quick reviewing of files and also enables many edit levels without accessing virtual memory (disk). The great thing was the low power drain because of the 128 x 64MB density that only puts 8 rather small memory chips on a 1GB module with no heat spreaders. Low cost was nice too.
