I have added extra RAM to the maximum recommended of 2GB for this laptop. There has been a small increase in speed and I am now happy that no further hardware updates can be performed on this laptop.
The only small glitch occurred the first time I started the laptop after installing the new RAM. The laptop beeped twice and shut down.On re-starting it worked perfectly and has done so ever since.

My laptop was struggling with only 512MB of memory. I had used Crucial some years ago to upgrade my PC memory, and recently a friend had used the service, so it reminded me how good Crucial are. the online tool to work out what memory is required/available is easy to use, and the new memory has done what I wanted of it, enabling my PC to work faster and to be able to run multiple programs without loss of performance.
