I moved from XP to Win7 and knew I'd need more RAM. Doing it with Crucial's help/website was the easiest thing I've ever done. Their program sniffs out your system and existing RAM and tells you what options you have (I had three). I ordered 2 more gig for my Dell XPS 410 because I had been getting low memory messages with the 2G that came with the machine. What a change from the old days when it took half an hour to install 128K! Removed the case cover, pushed the memory chips into place. Tested that all worked. Replaced cover and am up and running. Took just a few minutes for the whole process.

I bought 2 of these to increase my RAM from 2 GB to 4. My computer recognizes only 3 GB but I understand this is normal because Windows XP doesn't count anything higher than 3. These were easy to install and I think I did it correctly, BUT my computer runs more SLOWLY, not faster, since I installed them. Could I have done something wrong?

My 1 1/2 year old Dell XPS 410 was starting to slow down a bit with Win Vista and 2 GB of RAM. This additional 2 GB doubled the on board memory and has made a noticeable improvement in speed and performance overall. System appears to see all 4 GB of memory now, altho I suspect the 32 bit OS can't use it all. Inexpensive and easy upgrade! Thanks.

Was easy to install. I didn't have to look up what type of RAM to buy, I just did a system test with crucial. Worked well, the system is faster and handles photoshop like a dream. Recommended. Keep in mind that i have had the RAM in for about 4 days, so if it goes bad later, I'll p00p.

Wanted to get this XP machine a bit more ram to reduce swapping to the page file, etc. More ram never hurts, albeit it doesn't always make a huge difference depending on the task, system, etc. For the money, it does seem to help.

What can I say? This upgrade is cheap and now my computer actually works (rather than being bogged down by Photoshop). It was easy to pick the right type of RAM and very easy to install. With the new hard drive I installed, I can put off buying a new computer for a year!

Arrived On-Time (a rarity these days) exactly as advertised. Product Maxes out my Dell XPS410 using Windows Vista 64 bit at 4 GB. While upgrading a cumputer's memory to 4GB I ran into a problem through my own oversight. I overlooked one of the two memory stick in the shipping package. After calling technical support I realized the mistake I'd made. The Crucial tech person insisted on staying on the line until I'd installed the overlooked memory stick and assured that everything was working properly. The memory upgrade was provided at a great price and they have great tech support.

So, there I was. Faced with the arduous task of upgrading my Dell XPS something or the other. It was 2 years old and the SATA drive had finally given up the ghost. I replaced the drive. I figured while I was in there, let's add some RAM. It had been 10 years since I built a computer but I knew what to do! I opened the case and realized it all looked pretty much like it used to except the cable to the SATA drive. i was expecting to pay about $300 for the 2GB of RAM I wanted. Turns out, they were like [$] each stick! I was shocked, I was amazed. I cried a little and ordered the RAM. It [...]was easy to install and worked! Thanks to Crucial and their memory finder gizmo, I made the right choice. I couldn't have done it without my hands and Crucial. XP can only use "up to" 4 gig of ram so, it's a crapshoot if you get a real boost. I have 4 gig in the box and I can only use 3 gig. I'm doing a bunch of 3D rendering and it helped a little. Not as many "out of memory" crashes. Overall, good product. I'm just using my setup to it's max in the first place. Darth Ziggy

I use a Dell XPS 410 that, with exception to the video card, is stock from the factory. Upgrading the RAM on my desktop allowed for better gaming and the ability to run several more common "large" programs at once (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.) with no negative effects! Having never opened a computer in my life, I'd have to say that installation was easy!

I'd highly recommend this site to anyone looking to upgrade their RAM.

I like the ram, however I have issues with the Crucial Ram program that I downloaded from the site. I ran the program, and it told me that I would be able to handle 4 gigs of ram. Little did I know at the time that this was INCORRECT (I run Vista 32bit). So, I ordered two 1-gig sticks, and now have 4 total gigs in my computer, but it only accepts 3...

If the program had been correct, I would have only ordered one gig and would be 100% satisfied right now. As it stands, I will probably not be ordering ram through you ever again...

Crucial Response: Please see http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.aspx?qid=4251. Also, Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista addresses this issue.
