I live in a very dry climate where static electricity is definitely an issue. I had RAM to install along with 2 internal hard drives. This product does exactly as it claims. No static generated while i installed, finished, and removed the strap. I then walked to the light switch to shut off the lights and sure enough, there was a static discharge. I was very thankful I purchased this.

I use this product in installing RAM in my laptop. This give me confidence in installing the RAM by myself since I am worried about the static current that can damage my laptop while working inside. I rather use this than regularly touching the unpainted metal of the computer while working inside it. I keep it after use since I find it reusable, although, they said it's disposable.

I bought this to prevent any static charge when I upgraded to more RAM. It is rather flimsy, but the biggest problem was that I had no exposed metal to stick the opposite end of the wrist band to. This may be useful for someone who has to remove the covers and casing of a computer - but not really all that helpful for something simple like swapping RAM.

Strangely enough you need to read the instruction book for your MacPro in order to install new memory correctly. I read it and couldn't believe that you need to pull one of the factory installed DIMMS and move it to the upper card in order for the computer to recognize the upgrades you're installing. It seemed so goofy but that's the only way it works.

The wrist strap works as advertised. However I needed to help out other people with issues while I was performing the memory upgrade, which meant I had to take it off my wrist several times. Thus before I got the chance to finish it quick sticking to my wrist. I had to use shipping tape to get the thing to stay in place. It seems like its overpriced. I think one is better purchasing a higher quality multiuse item.

Pricey for a one-time use disposable. Wish I had read the other reviews before buying. Sticks to your wrist like an adhesive bandage. Might be a good value if sold at cost with any order. I would suggest the old short shirt sleeve method - roll up your sleeve. Press your forearm against the PC's metal frame or power supply. Both hands are now free to install the memory.

After purchasing 2 gigs of ram for my laptop which only came with 512 ram and a performance score of 2.0,my toshiba jumped to 3.0 performance score.I was really pleased as well as releived that i didn;t have to purchase another laptop.thank you crucial ,you scanned my computer for free and gave me good advice on what to upgrade and what chipset would be most compatable.I will tell others as well as come back for all my computer needs!!!

Why: Memory is the mos reliable of any brand in my experiance, and when I do have a problem no hassle it is taken care of. Went to the crucial website to scan for memory. However, mine is a home built computer and therefore it could not do the scan. But...they have a little download tool that can be used and a specific memory module was recommended - which I then purchased along with the anti-static wrist band. Received it well within the time frame quoted. Excellent service all the way around!

The wriststrap gave me confidence as I made my first attempt at adding a memory card on my own. The strap is pretty low-tech and not made to last indefinitely. But I wrapped it up and put it away in case I may want to use it at least another time or two.

Bought this because my original band had broken. This thing wasn't much better. It didn't last long enough for me to really make any good use of it. It kept coming off of the computer case. If you need a strap, best to spring for the real deal.
