Comments about Crucial 2GB kit (1GBx2) Upgrade for a Dell OptiPlex GX280 (Desktop and Mini-tower Models) System:

I was lucky enough to purchase a second hand 3GHz Pentium workstation at an auction for next to nothing ([$] including flat panel monitor). The first thing I did after the auction was to check out the Crucial website to max out the RAM to the limit. Even though the RAM cost more than the machine, the extra RAM from Crucial gives me a fantastic software development server for a fraction of the price of a brand new machine.The clean XP SP2 install with nothing else on it reduced the boot up time from 28 seconds to 23 seconds just by changing the RAM (it is more like a minute now I have all my development apps installed).Plus points all around. Would recommend again, and have done in the past.
