The RAM is easily handled so I didn't need to worry about static damage having taken sensible precautions.

[...] Does what it said on the tin, only thing I found was that the motherbaord did not detect the faster clock cycle settings that the RAM is advetised as having, I thought these were meant to be read from the chip & set automatically. I had to set them manually which was not as easily done as you might think.

Well I have been using crucial for some years now and these RAM sticks are just superb. If you are an avid gamer, I would highly recommend these sticks. They are not so good for overclocking, but do the job great nonetheless.

So far it has been a great product, the only thing is that it let me down a few weeks ago with one address that seemed to be deficient. The thing was regularly crashing my OS to the bone, I had to buy a new one after just a few months. Hoping my RMA gets accepted.

Memory is generally the easiest to install and most reliable component you'll have in your computer. That said, crucial memory is some of the best around....just try and find similiar spec memory at a lower price, with crucials free delivey I doubt a cheaper deal can be found. I've been using crucial memory for years and have never had a bad module in any system i've built. They gaurantee all memory for life....that to me shows confidence in their product.

Very easy to install and a good solid upgrade. With the advent of DDR3, it's probably a good idea to max out on your current DDR2 system and buying this RAM set from Crucial ensured that it was good value and totally compatible (I have had serious compatibility issues with other suppliers in the past). The old memory I was using from my previous supplier was supposedly dual channel matched pairs but produced errors from memtest 86 when run at 800MHz on several of my mainboards - the Ballistix modules run perfectly at full speed, no errors in over 10 passes! I strongly suspect I could over-clock these with no problems.
