Some Memory SIMMS can disappoint, offering little benefit. NOT these, no problems, easily slotted into base of my imac and now it zooms through memory intensive tasks, multi-tasking as if the mac was open a text file only.

My iMac had slowed to a crawl, taking an age to switch between apps. My local Apple store in Milton Keynes diagnosed a shortage of RAM and recommended crucial. I tripled the RAM and my iMac is a dream to work on. I spent less than £50 on memory,[...] when I was mentally prepared to spend around £1650 on a new iMac. What a result, and Apple didn't charge me a penny for the advice.

I use my Mac for lots of image work; iMovie, Photoshop, etc.
Fitting the memory was really straightforward, thanks to Mac design but the instructions given by Crucial covered everything.
Since installation there have been no problems whatsoever, speed has not increased greatly but the spinning wheel of death seems to keep away at times when it would sometimes pop up.
I would highly recommend this upgrade from Crucial, it seems to be a top product from a reliable company.

Never upgraded memory before. Did a lot of research before buying and this really was the best price that I found. The online tool that showed which products were compatible for my mac was so helpful. I don't think I could have understood all of the jargon without it! [...] Came with helpful instructions on how to install. I am in no way a computer whizz and I managed to install the memory myself with absolutely no trouble at all. Increased memory overall by 1.5 GB. Not huge, but noticeable improvement in speed, especially whilst running several applications. Would definitely recommend.

only had 1 GB and having lots of applications open (particularly image libraries like iPhoto with lots of files) started to slow down response times. a 2GB & 1Gb upgrade made a huge difference and [$] 5 minutes to fit. Ordering it on the website took longer, but that's not a criticism of the website

Sounds obvious, but don't force the arm things back in unless you want to hear a 'crunch', and see nothing but a flashing light instead of OS X (Yes I was stupid. Please don't do the same).

When I got it working, there was a big performance boost. Well worth every penny.

My imac already had 2GB (2x 1GB) and 3Gb was the maximum it would take. So I bought 1x 2GB module. When I first installed it, it would not boot up with a flashing light at the front. I then swapped the 1GB and 2GB around so the 2GB is at the back. This time it started on a blank screen. I then swapped the 1GB with the other 1GB that came out of the imac and it worked perfectly. I now have 3 GB working fine. So if you have problems it is worth trying swapping the chips around.
