Estimated performance boost +50% with my Thinkpad Laptop running many apps - photo ed./ programming etc simultaneously. RAM increase from 250Mb to +1Gb using Crucial. HDD caching now minimal. Investment has increased longevity of my 4 year old IBM laptop. cruacial on line mem compatibility utility very useful.

As a novelist, who usually has a laptop (showing the results of research, plots, characters, etc) running beside a desktop (running MS Word and on which I normally write), this upgrade to my laptop has improved boot-up and loading, although the CPU is relatively slow by modern standards (it's an old-model laptop but it is very reliable and does all I want it to do). I've always used Crucial memory to upgrade my computers (we have five at home, all networked) and have always found upgrading fairly straightforward (the laptop was the most complicated this time, because I had to remove the keyboard to get at the memory slot and I hadn't done that before). And most of all the memory chips have all worked perfectly from day one.
