I discovered from my geek son that Crucial could help to improve my desktop performance. I was having problems running a video editing programme with my new hard disc camcorder due to the miserable 0.5GB ram of my 2006 Dell computer. He pointed me in the direction of Crucial and I was able to locate exactly how much RAM I could upgrade to with my XP operating system using their simple identification and ordering system. I placed the order on-line[...]My son fitted the items and so far so good - the video editing programme works and the computer appears to be working faster - so a much cheaper alternative to buying another computer. The memory (1GB DDR2 PC2-5300 MEMORY MODULE x2 modules) has made my pc sing.

My pc was so slow and kept freezing. I have no idea of gthe technical side. I was told I needed more memory. When the parts arrived our son installed them for me but as I watched him doing that I realised that it was really so simple I could have done it myself. The Dell desk-top computer was doing its job before the upgrade, but very much at its own pace as if time did not matter, and so I was thinking of retiring it. I was amazed at how easy it was to just slot in low-cost replacement parts which immediately improved the computer and gave it a new lease of life. Crucial's on-line ordering facility was easy and efficient.

My computer though only 2 years old was slow. The increased RAM has meant much faster loading and quicker responses. Easy to install even by me. I don't understand computers and what's inside them but this was great.
