Used this in an older computer that had 1gb and 256 of RAM. (2max)I also did clean install of XP so hard to tell exactly what was responsible for what but feel like it was money well spent. I have used Crucial RAM in many applications. Once got a bad 'stick' but that can happen and was soon replaced.

20 years ago, I paid £28.00 for 1 Mb RAM !!!!

This purchase was to double the on-board memory of a small suite of PC's that were showing signs of over-load ... the upgrade's worked a treat!

Not for a DELL, but this is a pretty standard chip-set.

I bought two upgrades for my Dell desktop and they are a treat. I bought one for my Toshiba Laptop L20 series and it recognised the new one but not the old. Apparently a fault of Toshiba, but Crucial should have known this and advised. Saying that I did buy bigger than I needed so laptop improved

I purchased 2 x 1Gb memory sticks to replace 2 x 256kb in the case. Did not read anywhere that replacing the two at the same time would not be recognised by the OS. Figured out myself that they have to be installed one at a time for automatic recognition and configuration. Having done that though, eveything is perfect. Every application is faster including startup, and the PC just seems to enjoy having the extra memory to work with!

I discovered from my geek son that Crucial could help to improve my desktop performance. I was having problems running a video editing programme with my new hard disc camcorder due to the miserable 0.5GB ram of my 2006 Dell computer. The Dell desk-top computer was doing its job before the upgrade, but very much at its own pace as if time did not matter, and so I was thinking of retiring it. I was amazed at how easy it was to just slot in low-cost replacement parts which immediately improved the computer and gave it a new lease of life.
