I ordered memory on the advice of a friend and it didnt work. A quick call to crucial and they sorted out the correct memeory and took back the other. Old laptop goes like new now. EXCELLENT. Thanks Crucial Support.

Memory module fitted to a barely known notebook (Elitegroup), and worked in tandem with the existing memory module. It brought the total RAM capacity to 1GB, from its original 0.5 Gb. The memory available for use now, after all the Op System processes have been loaded is about 0.3 GB, which indicates how heavily the system must have been paging with the virtual memory before. Not surprisingly, therefore, the performance now is streets ahead of what it was before.

Despite using the system scanner and the compatibility checker this module does not work in the Compaq Evo N1005V notebook. The module needs to be double-density, which apparently is no longer available. Got a refund, [...]. Disapointed customer.
