I'm using this memory in an Inspiron 1300 that's about 5 years old. It originally came with 256MB of memory (you read that correctly) and was fit for the scrap heap. I installed Curcial's 1GB kit i.e. 2 x 1 GB modules, which beathed new life into an old machine. That coupled with a fresh install of the new Debian Squeeze (Linux) OS has resurrected a fading laptop. It performs better now than when it was bought. My only regret is that the motherboard doesn't seem to support 4GB. Keep up the good work Crucial.

It only took 15 minutes to install but only showed 1gb installed.I lost Acrobat and the wireless off my computer.On calling service they were unhelpful and said the fault was with my computer and not the memory and therefor get in touch with my ISP provider and Dells. I said there was nothing wrong until I installed the additional memory and with 1gb not recognised

My wifes' Laptop a Dell Inspiron 1300 about 5 years old was becoming slow and tired, it needed energising, I checked out Crucial Web Site to find that I could increase my RAM by almost 4 times so I plumbed for the 2 x 1 GB RAM as recommended for my Laptop. Bingo The installation instructions were spot on follwoed step by step, very easy RAM fitted easily like a glove, closed the Laptop up powered up and WOW! a new machine my wife is now over the moon the speed certainly helps her go about her duties with great ease.

A colleague told me about Crucial.com, as he said that he had increased his RAM, and was very pleased.So, I did the same - and boy what a difference! I had 512kB of RAM, and my laptop was running painfully slowly, especially when Norton Antivirus was 'doing its thing'. So I upgraded to 2MB (2 x 1MB), and my laptop now runs at warp speed! No more frustrating waits as my laptop thought about whether it really wanted to do my request or not![...] The downloaded software quickly told me what RAM upgrades my laptop was capable of handling, and then the various options were clearly presented, with lots of information given. I went for the maximum, and am extremely pleased. The RAM upgrade was delivered within a couple of days, and was very easy to install using Crucial's instructions in conjunction with my laptop's.BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT!

I upgraded my daughter's Dell Inspiron 1300 from the paltry 512MB it came with to 2GB. The difference in performance is very noticeable and more than worth the small cost involved. The memory was well packaged and came with clear instructions which made fitting a breeze. She is now routinely running a browser, picture viewer and wordprocessor at the same time with no lag at all.
