Although fiddly in to install due to the mac mini (Core Duo 1.66GHz) case there are plenty of howtos on the Internet to follow making the process is simple. The performance increase was commented upon by the wife (always a good sign and her machine) as the swap file is barely used now, compared to the original 512MB memory complement.

** Buy the kit with two sticks of memory rather than two single sticks, as it's a pound cheaper for the same thing - I only spotted this after ordering **

A Mac mini really isn't the easiest thing to crack open and upgrade, but I managed it and swapped out the existing memory with two of these Crucial chips. Works a treat and does the job!

Upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard (wiped hard drive and started again). Was running on 512Mb so replaced with 2 x 1Gb option. Wee bit fiddly to get the screws back in but well worth it.

My mini is now zippy, and having to wipe the hard drive finally forced me to back everything up.
