Excellent product. This is the second purchase from Crucial that I have made and I have been pleased with both. The memory has proved extremely reliable, it is easy to install all in all an excellent product. The computer is mainly used for image manipulation, Java programming and running VMWare Fusion and Windows XP Pro so that I can run Visual Studio software.

I bought 4 GB to increase the memory of my Mac Pro (original) to 7GB. Apple don't even sell the memory for this anymore as far as I know. I ran the system check app from crucial to find the correct memory.

After an easy installation, the memory was instantly found by the operating system (OSX) with no problem what so ever.

The only thing I can think of to mention is the fact that the instructions that come with the memory are much more PC oriented, but this is not that problematic, especially as there are many helpful diagrams available on the net or in the Apple booklet that comes with the mac.

Memory-intensive apps (eg Photoshop CS3) were creaking a bit with the standard memory. Adding another 4GB of RAM has transformed my Mac Pro. Always has been a great machine. Now it's got warp-drive.Dead easy to install. Put the DDR2s into the wrong slots to begin with, but a quick call to a Crucial technician put me straight instantly. Then a quick check of the System Profiler to make sure all chips are being seen by the Mac and . . . No further problems - second star from the left and on until dawn !
