The extra ram on my macbook certainly helped. I upgraded to 4GB and things work alot more smoothly. Iam running windows in vmware in parallel with other software and things are certainly better in terms of performance.

Installed these in my macbook which previously had 1GB of RAM. If you're running OSX and doing a tad more than just surfing the web, you probably want more than a 1GB to avoid getting any of the 'spinning ball' (which seems to come up when the system is swapping). I got 4GB, but from the memory stats in 'Activity Monitor', I think 2GB would be enough for pretty much perfect OSX performance.

About the RAM from crucial, it's a good price and seems to work fine. What more could you want ?

Never bought, or installed memory before, so very wary before buying this. Scare stories abound about how it could so easily go wrong. Actually it slipped in dreamily easy! Seems to be working fine, and definitely sorted my problems with Parallels. But then if it's gonna fail it'll be a catastrophe, which ain't happened yet!
