It does exactly what it says on the tin: once installed, my EeePC has 2Gb of RAM instead of the original 512Mb. Note that if you are running the original operating system shipped with the EeePC 701 you may only be able to use 1Gb. This is not an issue with the memory upgrade but with the operating system. If you want to keep the original OS, you may be better off with a 1Gb upgrade. If you are happy to install a new OS such as Ubuntu Netbook Remix, the 2Gb upgrade works great.
