Upgraded from 1.75 to 4GB. Stability of the system has greatly improved, and I am now able to run multiple applications simultaneously without ever having to worry about running out of RAM.

It's a 5 year old system, and this upgrade (along with a couple of other upgrades) really helped inject new life into it.

Very easy to install. Worked first time. Machine does appear to be more responsive, but I didn't get as big an increase in speed that I hoped for, but I'm not suggesting that there is anything with the product.
Identifying the bottleneck in the system for the casual user is the problem.

I do a lot of work using power draining media apps. My machine was at a point where it kept crashing. I looked at upgrading the graphics card which also meant that i would have to upgrade my psu, quite a hefty outlay. I decided to upgrade the memory before i did anything else, as it was a lot cheaper. I came to the crucial site, ran the little app, found the right stick of RAM and brought it. [...], i opened the side of my machine, plugged it in and 2 minutes later i was away. I opened the media app and started working right away, it never crashed once, worked a treat.
