Only one slot available on laptop without further disassembly. Left original 512K in place somewhere inside the machine and fitted the new 2Gb into expansion SODIMM socket available under bottom flap. No problems and immediate large increase in speed of laptop, much reduced disk thrashing.

Bought a 2GB upgrade to take my HP nx6325 up to the recommended 3GB for running Windows 7 64-bit. The speed rating (PC2-6400) was higher than the RAM module currently in my laptop and, I think, this caused a couple of BSOD's initally. However, after installing the latest BIOS update from the HP website (F.07) everything has worked perfectly.

Selection of the memory card was a "Doddle thanks to Crucial". No guess work bcause of the expert scanning system at the Crucial web site.

On receiving the upgrade card it was as easy as pie to install, and all up and running within a few minutes. The longest part of the install was removing the cover screws !!!!!

Just one more word.......PERFECTION..........

Nothing is good about this upgrade. The Crucial on-line program that recommended this upgrade configuration simply got it wrong. No increase in performance to the H-P Compaq nx6325 over the standard factory config of 512MB RAM. the 2 x 2GB RAM recommended (i.e. 4GB total)shows no performance increase. I have spent a further £35 UK pounds on getting professional advice and set up - they recommended running the machine at 2GB (and removed the second 2 GB RAM that I had installed). The on-line H-P manual suggests that 2GB is the max for this machine. The shop that I went to for advice (Crucial did not reply to my emails requesting assistance)suggested that either 2 x 512MB or 2x 1GB would be better. As I said there is no measurable increase in performance with your recommended upgrade! A waste of my time and money. I've re-installed the second 2GB and the machine is presently back in your recommended 4GB config but there is no difference over the standard 512MB.

Crucial - UK Response: There are many factors that can contribute to speed of the system. The 4Gb maximum is confirmed by HP's site. We offer free technical support by phone as well. I do see that an email reply was sent from us within 24 hours of receiving your email.

More of a problem with the laptop but the memory module is under the keyboard. Instructions to access this would be helpful. The online tool to identify what RAM chip is needed is superb and makes choosing the right RAM really easy.
