Acer Travelmate Laptop very slow. Time to load windows and get going 7+ minutes. Changing application windows 10+ seconds. Performance monitor showed sky-high page demands. Fitting upgrade of 2GB (4x factory fitted value) cured the problem. Now <2 minutes to get going and instantaneous window changes.

I was re-installing XP for a neice, and the Acer laptop had only 250KB of memory. So 1GB of memory made all the difference. It was very easy to install.
