I know nothing about the workings of computers, all I new was that my laptop had a problem which slowed it right down. Spoke with my nephew who is somewhat of a wiz when it comes to IT for advice. When I told him I only had 1GB of memory, he said that needs increasing urgently to a maximum of 4GB.He gave me Crucials web address saying it had a niffty piece of software that will look at your existing memory and advise what was best for your laptop. Great ! it worked [...] Thought it might be tricky to fit and get working, but all was fine. Installed and working within a few minutes.

Installation was much easier than the cautionary tales in various PC magazines had led me to expect.XP recognised the new memory and absorbed it efficiently.A completely unexpected effect that as yet I cannot explain is that the wireless connection to my router now drops off line when I try to enter any significant amount of data.My first reaction was to test the new memory.I stopped the test just short of 5000%. There were no errors.Much appreciated is packaging that doesn't have to be destroyed to get at the contents but which can be used to store the memory boards that have been replaced.

Loved the easy programme to tell me what was needed and how much my laptop could take, for a reasonable price I definatly extended the life of an aging laptop for another 6 months minimum, great with a full system wipe laptop feels brand new and powerful again had gone so laggy. Only thing better instructions could have been proveded, was no problem for me as I'm somewhat technically minded but dont be afraid top upgrade and anyone can do it A1.

Identifying what upgrade memory to choose for an old dell laptop was made very simple by using the Crucial System Checker Software. This identified what was in my system, and what I could upgrade with. This took out all the stress. I simply oredered their reccomendation.

Fitting was simple, and in minutes, My laptop was performing much better.

The diagnostic software for identifying upgrades is not to be missed.

I Have noticed a General Increase in Lap Top speed and Internet Access. It also seems to have improved the download reliability when downloading things like old TV programmes on BBC I player So far a bit inprovement in performance and very easy to install

Great product.
Very easy to install on my Dell laptop, had to remove two screws & then open the cover, there are two clips, one either side of the ram & then it pops out,
New memory went back in the same way it came out & then done!
All I had to do is screw the screws up again & job done!
Turned on my laptop & it came up with the memory has been changed, just hit the enter button & job compete.
It's now made my laptop super fast in opening & running programs, unlike before the laptop took ages to close any programs running.
My OS is XP & it seems that 2GB is the right size of ram to go for.
I would recommend this to who ever reads this review.
