Realising that it WOULD BE BETTER TO BUY A MATCHED PAIR, the installation went well, but....my system only saw half of the increase. However, as my machine is aged, (-ish, at 7 years, with a 9 year old processor), I was not surprised. My problem was with streaming online videos that "stuttered", and the extra 50% RAM successfully stopped this! RESULT! It gives me more time to save for a complete new machine. I have used CRUCIAL once before, and as before, I was not dissappointed with the diagnosis, [...]and final result - I was warned that a matched pair would probably be better.

My computer was so slow I thought of replacing it.
I used the free Crucial programme to assess what memory was in use and what Crucial deemed required.
Was I glad I followed their recommendations on
requirement,purchase, and fitting.It was the first time I had replaced any parts but the instructions
were clear and the total job took 20 minutes.
What a difference this has made.

Having installed the ram I found that it didnt work, then I removed it and put it back in again in the same place and it worked. Now everytime I went to turn the pc on I would get a system hardware message and the machine wouldnt boot unless I removed the power cable for 5 seconds,replaced it, then switched it on and it worked.
So I exchanged the position of the new Ram with my existing Dominator crucial Ram, and this seems to have solved it.Maybe a compatability issue, although I did use the crucial ram checker!

Increased RAM from 512 to 2gb for use on my home PC.After checking details for my motherboard through the website this was the maximum recommended. To install new ram was made really easy by the on line tutorial, this was the first time I have ever seen inside a PC, took me 10 mins. I can now open multiple programmes that respond in an instance. Money well worth spending it's like having a brand new PC, quick or what!

Bought x2 One gig sticks for my daughters PC. It now has 4 times the RAM it had previously and 'what' a difference. The product was so easy to find with the app that scans your system. Tells you exactly what you need and the buying [...] process was seamless. In future I'll stop of at Crucial first before wasting time talking to someone in a shop. Crucial's website is so much faster and less stressful.

Used for surfing the net, emailing, downloads and Microsoft appplications. Instantly recognised by the system.

My PC has 2x500MB 667MHz units as originals. The supplied 2x1GB units run at 1066MHz. So maximum memory speed is limited to 667MHz unless the 500MB units are removed. I would have thought the Crucial diagnostic would have given identical speed units?
