My PC was doing a lot of disk hacking and checking the Task Manager it was doing a lot of paging. I only had 1GB memory installed so added a further 2GB. What a difference!! It is a lot faster now because it is not using the disk all the time.
One thing to be careful is ensuring memory is located in pairs and that doesn't necessarily mean they are in adjacent slots. In fact pairs are in alternate slots - so check before installing.

My whole experience of Cruial was fantastic. My Windows XP PC is a little old now and was starting to become a little slow. I used the utility on the Crucial website to scan my computer, and went with one of the recommendations to upgrade from 1GB to 3GB. I placed the order and the memory arrived the very next day. A few minutes later, I fitted the RAM into my computer and restarted it. Everything worked perfectly and there is a noticeable improvement in performance. I wish I had done it ages ago!

Had my Pentium 4 3.0GHz for several years with only 1Gb RAM. Just ordered 2 of these to take it to max 3Gb for Win XP and very pleased with the result. Take care to push the modules fully home in the slots - check that the clips shut properly.

I needed a cheap pc to use as a Media Centre so I purchased a Dell Dimension 8400 with a 500GB Sata drive on eBay, I downloaded the Crucial scanner checked my system then purchased 2GB of Crucial 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300, NON-ECC memory to replace the 500MB it came fitted with. The memory was easy to fit 10 minutes max and it transformed the performance, I can now watch, surf and record to my hearts content :)

I use my PC for home and (very) small business purposes. I previously had 2 x 512 modules installed which were the "factory fit" articles. Upgrading to 4 x 1GB DDR2 (the maximum memory the system would take) has made it run more smoothly, particularly in terms of video and using IE8.

I installed this memory easily on my machine but did not notice a significant improvement in performance when loading memory hungry applications (e.g. Dreamweaver). After 2 days, my machine blue screened and corrupted my hard drive. Fortunately, I keep regular back ups of my hard drive but it still took 3 days to re-build the machine.

Service & Delivery comments:

Great tools for identifying the memory to order. Promptly delivered by Crucial and promptly refunded when I returned the goods.
Excellent customer services but shame about the product quality.
