This laptop came with Vista Basic and 500 MB of memory. I upgraded to 1GB which speeded it up from a snail's pace to something approaching a saunter, but it still went back to snail speed when the anti-virus started. Now with 2 GB performance is quite reasonable, there seems to be room for Vista -and- a program or two to run.

I opted for the kit Crucial recommended for my laptop. This entailed removing a half gig module and replacing it with two modules each of one gig. The Acer Aspire 3680 is a budget machine and 512KB of memory was only just enough to run the Windows Vista Home Basic operating system. With the 2 GB fitted the laptop has actually become useful, because the speed increase is remarkable. It's a very simple and relatively inexpensive upgrade and could save you from the expense of replacing your PC.

My laptop was very slow, under memoried for the vista home basic supplied with it. Now it's like a different machine. WIth 4 times the memory i no longer spend more time waiting around than I do using it.

What can I say about this Crucial memory kit?

Well it's as good as any other memory I have bought from crucial over the last 6 or 7 years.

I have never had a stick of Crucial memory fail or let me down.
