Diagrams are very useful especially if you are not a techno phobe. Easy to install and the scan is the most useful part. As it tells you exactly what is needed and what ipgrade in speed it will give you!

What I know about computer hardware wouldn't fill the back of a postage stamp. However my PC was creaking at the seams, spending a lot of time swapping stuff in and out of paged memory so I knew I had to do something.
I scanned my PC using the tool on the Crucial website and bought the memory it recommended. Once installed the problems were cured.
An excellent, idiot-proof purchase which does exactly what it says on the tin.

As planning to upgrade when new Windows 7 operating system has been around for a little while I opted to just install and extra 1GB. Really great. My daughter's computer memory was being drained by a speech synthesizer. I fitted this additional memory myself in seconds and now the computer is so fast it's incredible. I used crucial to work out what extra memory would do for my computer, wrote down the memory I needed and purchased it cheap elsewhere. It crashed my PC. Once I'd put it back as it was before, I ordered the memory from crucial and it worked perfectly. I So much for trying to cut a cheaper deal!

The memory upgrade has made a lot of difference to an old computer, considerable increase in speed. However, one slight problem is that it now will not start without a hardware reset. I can live with this but its anonying.

My Computer was very slow and my grandson put 1GB extra memory in to help speed it up. I would say it is a little faster but not as fast as I would like. I now have 1.75GB memory and maybe I should be putting in another 1GB[...] so easy to install I would have no hesitation in adding more memory or recommending to others.

To no avail and much frustration had tried to source the appropriate module of ram locally. Due to the pc's age had almost decided to buy a new system for increased ram. Following friend's recommendation and as final act emailed crucial support team who advised suitability of this product. Great, it worked and pc performance enhanced vastly. Plans for upgrade pc scrapped and monies saved - well chuffed.

I have an oldish computer that was almost at a standstill. I did all the disc defrags and register cleanups etc., but no improvement.
I didn't want a new computer with Vista and Office 2007 – I've got them in my laptop and hate them both (they are not logical, just all show ).
Now my old computer zips along, after the 1 Gb memory upgrade and I can still use XP and Ofice 2000.

Allthough it was very easy to install the memory, was given wrong information by memory scanner, that there were 3 slots (2 with 0.5MB)and one was free to upgrade to 2 MB, hence ordered 1MB (1 + 0.5+ 0.5=2) when opened the machine there were only 2 slots, hence ended up with only 1.5Mb memory, [...]

I'm running a 6 year old Elonex PC with a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 processor under Windows XP. It had 1 Gb of RAM already in it, which used to be fine. But having several applications open simultaneously, including Firefox with a dozen or more tabs open, was really slowing it down. The addition of 2 more Gb of RAM has made SUCH a difference - it's become fun to use the machine again, and downloading web pages has become really fast once more.About the best [£] I've ever spent.

My one and only criticism would be the computer analysis said there would be three slots to install the memory in; in fact there were only two. This meant I was unable to maximise the memory to the level indicated on the crucial site analysis. Apart from that it was fine.

I was rather apprehensive about inserting the additional RAM as I had not had the back off my PC since it arrived over six years ago. I watched the video and having vacuumed the dust out managed to press the cards home, although in awkward positions. The RAM was increased by 2GB and I didn't even get an error message.

Nobody likes a SLOW, plodding PC, particularly when conducting memory intensive applications such as web-design.
The ASRock motherboard within my elderly Pentium 4 is finicky and will not accept high density memory modules. Shame as these are usually 30-50% cheaper!
I did not want the hassle and expense of renewing my machine as, in most other respects, it gives a respectable account of itself... i.e. 160GB storage and has all the software I need.
The Crucial modules have breathed new life into the PC at a price which although, does not compare too favourably with a replacement PC (roughly 20% of the cost) but does allow me to retain all the useful software I might otherwise have had to pay a premium for once again...

Following a search of the hardware on my PC it was identified that my RAM was breaking down, the search recommended several up dates and quoted the correct replacement required, the instructions for installing the replacement was comprehensive enabling a novice to carry out the up date, the up date rectified all the reported problems and works well.

I had to send memory back twice to another provider, which they said was tested,as it did not provide the stated memory. Crucial went in straight away and hey presto worked like a dream. I am sorry I did not go to crucial first.

Upgraded Xp Pro machine from 2 x 512MB Ram by adding 2 x 1GB, 184-pin DIMM, DDR PC2700 (mother board has 3 slots) now has 2.5GB RAM. More stable performance with only a slight increase in speed but restricted by single core CPU. Easy to fit straight from the box, worked at reboot.
Will upgrade my Vista Pc next from 2Gb to 4GB with Crucial Memory
