Needed more memory than the 1GB that I bought with the Dell, as system performance with multiple applications running at the same time had become wearingly slow - part of a late spring-cleaning effort. No appreciable gain in speed yet, but it's maybe too early (and unfair) to say that since there are programs and files on the system still that will be removed, others to be backed up onto separate storage and taken off the machine altogether too (plus some of the programs currently loading at Startup removed whenever I can check out for definite which ones I can safely remove) that should, with the new RAM, ultimately, make for speed gains. Product itself came in individual anti-static sleeves and was very protectively packaged in a nifty and sturdy little box. Brilliant, in fact. This memory was OK to put in, too - my mate did it for me - although putting in extra memory does seems a bit of a fiddly exercise and you need to get the balance right between not forcing these delicate modules in yet at the same time making sure you click them fully into place. (He used an anti-static strap, too). When we rebooted the computer the system found the new memory and after a few on-screen prompts we were ready to roll.

I upgraded from 512Mb Ram to 2Gb Ram, to speed up rendering time for 3D modelling.The ram was very easy to install, no problems on start up, computer recognised the upgrade straight away, and render times were reduced by 35%![...]!No complaints! 100% perfect product and service!

I upgraded a 4 year old computer from 1GB to 4 GB RAM. It has dramatically speeded up all the sytems and allowed multiple programmes to run at a good speed! My son can now play games ata proper speed and my 3D CAD is far quicker to manipulate objects.
A good buy to keep this going for another year or so!

My Dell 4700 PC is 5 years old now and the 512mb RAM it came with was holding me back (running multiple apps and switching between them was so so slow). I used the Crucial tool to tell me what my upgrade options were and odered it there and then. 2 days later 2GB RAM arrived and was installed that evening. Now I can run loads of apps at the same time (IE, Outlook, photo editing software, itunes etc) and it works super fast. Its the best [$] I ever spent on the PC. Only downside is the startup time doesnt seem to have improved but at least when its and running its now very fast.

Unfortunately, not quite enough to breathe life in to my rather old computer. Think CPU is more the limiting factor. Still, highly recommended, I'll certainly be back.
