I was a little sceptical about Crucial's claims that my system - a Sony Vaio VGC-V2S (with a published maximum of 1Gb of memory) would take 2 1Gb boards but their 'money back' policy finally made me decide it was worth a punt.

Out with the old, and in with the new - I instructed the system to calculate a new size for the paging file and it's working 'better than brand new'.

I would have no hesitation in reccommending Crucial as a first point of call for any memory upgrades.

I was amazed at how much faster my computer did things after I installed the memory upgrade.

Adding extra memory halved the start up time on my machine. The load time for programs like iTunes and MS Outlook and MS Word was much much faster. The memory upgrade has made the compuer a LOT more responsive when running applications.

Installing the upgrade was easy, once I realised where it went. I have a Sony Vaio and the computer components are at the back of the screen, however the access point was not easy to find. Once I removed the sliding back cover, the silver metalled section was easy to identify. The memory upgrade slid in, just as the instructions described.

In short I thought my computer was slowing, failing and on its way out, but it now feels like a brand new machine. I wish I'd done this years ago.
