The memory arrived very quickly and was easy to fit - especially as it was for an ageing laptop.

The Crucial site analysed my computer and advised that there were two sockets.
In fact there was only one, so I was left with no choice but to replace the 500MB with the 1GB (rather than add it)
Improves speed somewhat.

Having used Crucial before in a desktop with perfect results, I decided to use them again for a friend's laptop. With the aid of Crucial's analyser to help me ascertain which to buy, I purchased their recommendation. Adding 1Gb to the existing 500Mb has proved successful, improving performance greatly and turning a gringingly slow computer into a useable

Crucial memory is fine. 1st memory slot is easy to find and access, but don't buy 2x1GB cards unless you are ready to dismantle your machine.

All OK, BUT, as the site works out what machine you have and therefore best memory to fit it, the fitting instructions should be supplied also. Took me 30 mins to track down some instructions on the web.
