I was going to dump my old Dell Inspiron 510. It was getting slower and slower, and hanging when I had a couple of windows open. Decided that it might be the measly 256MB of RAM that worked fine with yesterday's software, but nowhere near enough now. This 1GB RAM module arrived in a couple of days and must have taken me all of 2 minutes to install, and that includes opening the package and reading he clear instructions. Result? Machine works like new. Cheers Crucial.

I bought this product because my laptop is very old, and had become so slow it was unusable with up to date anti-viral software. The installation instructions were clear and east to follow, and my laptop now runs at the same speed it did six years ago when I bought it, I think it may even be a little faster. I was a little nervous about buying and installing this product, as I know little about computers, but the online compatabilty checker, and video, PDF and printed instructions made the whole thing easy as 123. I would recommend crucial to anyone.

I found the computer would not power up with the existing 250Mb RAM left in place but I did not try reversing the slot positions and the speed increase was such that I am not really concerned about the loss.

My laptop was so slow I was reluctant to switch it off it took so long before I could do anything. When there was a security update or scan I could do nothing as the progrmmes froze. A file scan took about 2hours now takes 20minutes and I'm not even aware anything is happening. My husband had a Which computer magazine which seemed to describe my computer to a t and advised crucial. Cannot fault what was recommended and instructions for fitting and email address for help-what more could anyone ask for. Already 2 friends have been on the website and purchased for their computers.
