I nipped in to my local Apple store to enquire about a memory upgrade for my macbook pro, and was advised to go direct to crucial as it is a simple thing to do for yourself. However, I was a still a little concerned about knackering my baby but the whole process has gone fine. I used the system scanner, and got the upgrade recommendation virtually instantly (I added a screwdriver and ESD wristband just for good measure as they are so cheap).[...] the memory was all in and works a treat. It really is simple to do, and the youtube vids all help with the process if you want to see it done. I expect my mac to work hard with me, running CS5, alongside safari, sykpe, ical, email, spotify/itunes, and numbers etc all across 4 spaces and I have noticed a significant improvement in performance by upgrading to 2 x 2gb chips (from2 x 1gb). So, I'd say go for it, you won't regret it.

my mac pro for music kept stalling when i had a lot of plugins in the project, now it runs so much better, twice as well, no stalling at all really. i wish i had done this a long time ago.

I use Apple MacBook Pros and iMac for a lot of video/music processing apart from regular applications like iWork & Office. Also use Windows 7 in coherence with Mac OS X through Parallels and run programs and applications under both operating systems simultaneously.Found the System Scanner and Mac Memory Advisor tools very simple and accurate. Good tracking available online for delivery. [...] Added 2 x 2GB DDR2 chips to my MBP. Tested the RAM on installation and found no problems. Increased system performance as expected.Looking forward to upgrade RAM on 3 more systems.The price is unbeatable.

excellent service and product all round. not diy'd a mac before so altogether v happy BUT the installation instructions do IMHO need to tell you how to take out the existing old ram modules. Once youve installed the upgrade you understand the procedure but no guidance on how to take out at the start! will think of crucial next time round!

Crucial's web site knew exactly what RAM to sell me, and it was quickly sent. very good performance so far snappy and does exactly what it should... this is so recomended if your looking to upgrade your ram on a macbook pro like i did ( be warned though the philips PH00 screwdriver isnt that easy to find in the local stores or on the net so if you dont have one get it first then order the ram you need!!

apart from that i am very happy with the 4 gig of ram i bought and i think you will be too.

Really cheap to upgrade this computer by twice it's speed, maxing it out! I recommend to any Mabook Pro owners. The only problems I had was I the installation of my memory was delayed due to a stubborn screw on the memory compartment, but that was Apple's fault not Crucials! Thanks for the memory!
