I was working in Garageband and Logic but when I added some FX my system began to slow down. In fact Logic wouldn't run. Looking on the Cruial website for an upgrade memory module could not have been simpler! I obtained a 2Gb upgrade allowing me to have a total of 3Gbs.

My iMac has two memory slots . Each slot can take a 1GB or 2GB module .the computer is delivered with just 1GB . I chose to put a 2GB module in the empty slot . This gave a total of 3GB of RAM . I could have discarded the 1GB module and replaced with 2GB giving a total 4GB RAM. This would have doubled my costs .[...]. Very easy to install with only a Phillips No.2 screwdriver . A great improvement in speed when browsing through all the iPhoto pictures.

I was running with only 1GB and upgraded to Snow Leopard and found a big drop in the overall speed of the computer. Programs like iMovie and iPhoto were slow to respond and photo editing was becoming impossibly slow. I knew from other comments online that I needed more RAM and found the Crucial website easy to select the correct memory [...] On my particular iMac 2.4 20", it was simple to install. Remove 1 screw from under the computer to remove a small cover, and install the new RAM in the free slot. Everything now runs much faster than before, I upgraded to 3GB.
