I have changed one of the 500 Mb original memory chips in my Dell D620. Installation is easy. One has to go through the bios one time to activate the memory and that's it. Works fine and provide 2.5Gb memory which is close to the memory amount win xp is able to manage. It avoids the excessive disk swapping.

Installed by my son and as there was no swearing from him I assume it was quite straighforward!
Disappointed that I only got 3 Ram from 4 ram installation but that's down to my 32bit o/s so be aware that unless your o/s is 64bit performance won't be maximum
