A struggling laptop - 1.86 GHz processor but only 512Mb RAM - upgraded to 2Gb RAM. Startup no longer takes for ever and applications seem to fly long rather than stutter/hang. DVD payback is much smoother. Simple product selection. Easy installation - the new memory was recognised up at once. Wish I had done it sooner!

1.6GHz Dell Inspiron 6000 from 2002 was slow and unreliable, particularly when running a critical heavy processing application.

I was recommended to upgrade to Windows 7, which needed upgrade in RAM. Crucial's online application found me these modules, which have made an amazing difference to this old PC.

Excellent purchase and I would have no hesitation in recommending this product.

Easy to install with enclosed information sheet.
As dell laptop was only supplied by filling both memory slots with small memory modules it required removing one of these for the new larger memory. This wasted the smaller Dell suplied module which was unavoidable.

As a novice silver-surfer I had reservations about installing an upgrade without help.However, after making a silly mistake intially and not ensuring the memory was properly seated, I retried and found that there was an immediate improvement in the speed of my laptop. very easy to install the memory, and a small bit of updating the bios then my laptop went into overdrive.
my laptop is fast, i mean really fast compaired to what it was. i can open loads of windows and not get the 2 min wait until it has refreshed.

the only problem was forgetting to update my bios for the change in memory size but apart from that everything was fantastic.

Laptop now seems to run more reliably with the 2 x 1MB RAM upgrade over the previous 512KB. Installation was easy but took me until third attempt to boot.I replaced cards into the slots and put a bit more pressure on which did the trick. Don't forget the anti static wrist band and battery removal. An easy DIY upgrade just a small phillips screwdriver needed to detach the panel under the laptop.The old RAM was snapped up by a "Freecycler".

Unfortunately the product didn't work and had to ship it back. By a coincidence also had an NTFS issue too at the same time which created me a few problems. Now I am awaiting a refund for the memory module.
