I bought a couple of these to increase the amount of RAM inside an old 24/7 running Dell Precision 650. Memory modules on old sockets are hard to find nowadays. Luckily, PC3200 (DDR400) is backwards compatible with PC2700 (DDR333) and PC2100 (DDR266). Buy them from Crucial instead of [...] if you want to steer clear of nasty surprises. For a common PC, you may want to purchase cheaper non-ECC ones.

RAM identified and added easily. Trying to hold the RAM with one hand and the case with the other is not so easy. Invest in an anti-static band.

Its good, but expensive. There are cheaper options on the market. The on-line Crucial scan made it simple to choose the correct memory, and thats why I went for the more expensive option.

It a shame really they so me a dearer one last week and then so me a cheaper one the following but I am still waiting for a reply from there customer care. At the moment they are saying one think and somethink else the next. They want me to send memory back and they will lokk into it but when I explained that without memory I have no computer and its there mistake they do not reply

I need to quickly update our two desk tops to prevent paging when running multiple apps so bought a couple of extra gig of memory for each. The process was simple and the performance is significantly better.

2G memory upgrade. The Crucial test probe reckoned the desktop could take 2 x 1 G. But in reality only 1 G worked. If I tried to change the 0.5 G already fitted - all sorts of boot problems. Finally settled on just the 1 x G, new chip and left the old 0.5 in its original slot. This works fine and gives significant speed improvements
