Installed easily and worked straight away, I ran the Memtest86 utility on the PC for a couple of hours and had no errors reported, just a 100% performance.

This is the second time I have bought a Crucial Memory to enhance the performance of an aging computer. (Last time 6 years ago). The solution worked again.

On a desktop, RAM is not completely straightforward to install; you have to take the cover off, ensure that internal cables are out of the way, and make sure that everything is properly earthed before starting. But beyond that it is fine and only a half hour task to complete.

Before adding this 1GB RAM to the 500MB already there, my four year old desktop took several minutes to boot up completely and hang ups had become quite common - notwithstanding software maintenance and tidy ups. Now startup take seconds - and my machine has not frozen once since installation.

My only complaint is that you do not make an extra RAM for my own brain - I could do with it !

The hardware manufacturers place a 512 Mb MM to handle Vista...which it can't. For the small price to pay for un upgrade to 2048 Mb via Crucial the system now runs fine...'Viva Crucial'.
