My Acer Aspire T180 had 1GB RAM preinstalled and over time had really slowed down and took an age to start up after installing an additional Crucial 1 GB Dimm its now faster than when I first bought it . Really pleased . Highly Recommend Crucial.com

After the Crucial scan I decided to get the 2GB as I was unsure if my system could handle the 4GB.
After installing it wouldn't boot, so i had to remove existing RAM and install new ones. System then booted OK, but not with the 3GB I thought I would have.

I have noticed an improvement in reliability, however, not that sure about speed being improved. Still, you can't complain at such a low price for two DIMM's. Recommended for ease of use and stability/performance.

*CAUTION*
This upgrade likes to be kept in pairs in ram slots.
I upgraded to 4gb from 2x 525mb
The problem is when you put all of the ram in at once then fire up your computer.
It will fail to start.
With patiance and fannying on with them.
I managed to work out that installing 2 then. Cranking up checking all ok. Then shutting down.
Putting the last two in. Then fireing the computer up a final time. Done the job!!!
Put the wack in straght away and it wont fire up???

Bought two 1 GB dimm's to get my dad's T180, with Vista Basic on, to run faster than a snail. I had already two 512MB dimm's in it but it really needed more. On first install the bios gave loads of ominous beeps and it didn't want to work. I searched the internet for the answer and a webpage suggested staggering the configuration i.e. 1GB in first slot, 512mb in 2nd, 1GB in 3rd and 512mb in 4th. So I re-arranged the dimm's and it all worked fine with no beeps from the bios. The performance was definately improved but Vista still sucks the life out of any PC!
