Apparently the EEEPC 900 can be picky about RAM and unfortunately these modules didn't work in my machine.

Easy to install after removing existing 1GB module, and the computer detected it automatically. Windows XP is noticeably quicker now.

Comments about Crucial 2GB Upgrade for a ASUS Eee PC 900 System:
Easy to install in my Eee 900. After first install, crashed after a couple of minutes. Reseated it a few times then it worked ok. Still crashes every few weeks (never used to) but I can live with that. Apparently there is a power issue on the Eee 900 that can play a part. Still a worthwhile upgrade, although I expect the best from Crucial normally!

Okay panic over the previous reviews saying it did not work with the ASUS 900 are true as I was Informed that they had come from a faulty batch. [...]Pluged in memory and machine fired up straight away no problems.

Comments about Crucial 2GB Upgrade for a ASUS Eee PC 900 System:
If Asus EeePC 900 BIOS settings stays at Performance mode (900 Mhz) will only start 1:5 times. This is a power issue. BUT changing CPU speed to stock / std (650 Mhz)in BIOS will ensure starts OK each time.
The extra RAM can still speed up XP performance if set Swapfile to 0, create a RAM disk and point Windows TEMP and TMP folders to the RAM disk (NB disable RAM Disk if need to restart PC during new software installations).
After starting XP use of the eeectl program can boost CPU speed back towards 850 Mhz. This works for me BUT I wish I had purchased a truly compatible upgrade first. I have checked if the spec has changed since raising this with Customer Support - it has not! So if you use part Number CT826456 in an Asus eeePc900 be prepared to have to change settings for it to work satisfactorily or go elsewhere for a part that will work without needing to underclock your PC first

Comments about Crucial 2GB Upgrade for a ASUS Eee PC 900 System:
I was pretty disappointed to find that this was sold to me as an upgrade for an ASUS eee 900 and did not work. Having been confident that it was the right module, I tore off the warranty sticker from my PC and installed the module.
All appeared to be well until I rebooted .. and the PC would not boot. Hard reset (with a paper clip) and it booted. A couple of reboots later and ... it would not reboot.
The upside is that when I called Crucial about the problem they immediately apologised and said that there was an issue, and the module should be returned for refund. I am not out of pocket (except for my return postage costs), just suffered a bit of hassle and anxiety that the PC was faulty (I put the original 1GB module back in and had no problems).
While I would not recommend this particular product to a friend, I would still be happy to recommend crucial.
