I added this as a result of swopping the hard disk for a [Crucial] SSD to my MacBook Unibody, 2008. I had been unable to remove the retaining screw of the HD, and I asked the Apple Genius people to do this. They readily swopped the HD for the SSD I'd prepare, and they suggested that the other upgrade well worth doing was to double the RAM.[...] bought better Phillips 00/000 screwdrivers, ordered the RAM, and had it going in 15-20 minutes. (I have upgraded other Macs, both for myself and family, so I'm not a novice.)The only downside is that I have two more bits of redundant RAM. It really is like a rejuvenated computer. Highly recommended.I should add comments about the SSD, too.

Quality product nicely packaged and competitively priced was a little apprehensive about installing it but put the Mac on some aluminum foil and grounded myself using an anti static wrist band grounding both the foil and the internal chassis of the Mac. A delicate operation but no problem and delighted with the increased performance!

The thing is once you cross the 2GB barrier when it comes to RAM I really doubt you see bounteous improvements in speed. Thought I suspect that this will change come Snow Leopard.

Great value for money as long as you follow the instructions it's pretty easy to install - quite interested to see inside my mac. I do a fair bit of creative work so the extra ram comes in handy, running multiple items is easy, although haven't really noticed much difference between the original 2GB and the new 4GB - might be more to the overall efficiency of the machine.Again top marks on price [...], items well packaged.
