From the tool that told me what type of memory I needed and how much[...], I couldn't be happier with my purchase.[...]Really easy to install - even though it was the first time I'd opened the base unit the memory was installed within 10 minutes, and that included my apprehension about breaking something inside!In terms of performance this has made a huge improvement. Went from 500MB memory to 2GB which means that things like antivirus that really slowed me down before run really smoothly.Price wise, at less than [$] including delivery it was really competitive, and far cheaper than the option of a new laptop!Overall opinion - really pleased with the product, service and price. Our company purchased a kit of two of these dimms, as an upgrade for a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo P desktop computer, with an ASUS P5LD2-FM motherboard. The dimms were very easy to fit, worked first time and increased the computer's performance when running simulations.

The product is excellent, though it required a little more force than normal to ensure a good seating.
At first I had an alarm but this was because of not taking sufficient spinach before installation.
I thought at first this was an incompatibility with existing Kingston chip, but clearly not the case as all is working well now
If you do get an alarm, I suggest you re-seat before calling for help.

I wanted to improve PC performance as I have started to transfer/edit my Digital8 video recordings on to DVDs. My system had 1GB RAM which was OK for most things but sometimes struggled with the video work. Upgrading the RAM to 2GB has helped - I would have actually liked 4GB but my system does not support more than 2GB as the Crucial on-line scan results pointed out. I am very happy with the product - it's great value too. Installation was very easy aided by clear instructions. The one minor problem was my fault - I had not inserted one of the two 1MB cards fully so my system detected only 1MB of RAM. I guessed that was the problem but I used the Crucial on-line scanner again - this not only confirmed what the issue was but showed which slot needed attention.

I have found nothing that has been a let down with the product and would certainly recommend it to friends who might be thinking of upgrading their RAM.

I'll be getting another.

As I was unsure as to what memory I needed for my Medion PC I emailed Crucial and they came back to me within 24 hrs. Installation took no more than 10 minutes. I only had 2GBof RAM on my Vista Premium and often ran out of available memory when Multi-Tasking.Much better now i have installed 2x 1GB Crucial boards.

My computer was painfully slow and i was considering buying a whole new system because of all the hassle it had given me. I purchased 2x1GB to replace and double the memory in my wife's 3 year old PC and reduce her frustration waiting for a very slow machine. I build my own PCs so for me installation was straight forward and didn't need the included instructions, although I find them to be well written and contain easy to follow steps for those with less experience. There is always slight trepidation when restarting a machine after an upgrade accompanied by a sense of relief that there were no BIOS, compatability or stability issues.

End result, my wife now has a much more responsive PC. I have a much happier wife, that in turn makes me happy and means this a good value upgrade for a slightly ageing machine.

I order from Crucial as it does what it says on the box. The Identifyer on the site when it scanned the PC didn't get it right (earlier reviews from Packard Bell web site also reached the same conclusion). However I knew what I wanted and keen prices with the confidence in the product was to me a minor problem. I've used Crucial memory in systems that have failed with cheapo stuff from dealers and always found it performed well so its my first choice!

I originally did a scan on a computer that needed this type of memory but because I did not want the memory right then and there I wrote down the part number to order later. When I ordered the memory later on (by searching the part number) [...]it did not work. I spoke to Crucial’s technical team online and they sorted it straight away, It was something to do with high and low density which would of been picked up if I’d of ordered the memory with the scan ID (the scan ID has the make of the mother board as well) The technical team gave me the number to the sales team who were happy to replace the part with the density I needed at no extra cost and it all works fine now. Great product and great service from Crucial.

Excellent value and fairly easy to install although needed more force than expected. Once I had it almost in I clicked each end in turn. Powered up and worked first time - not bad for a middle aged woman! Also fitted new power supply recently. Can't say that I've noticed much improvement in performance except when burning cd's as I used to have to shut everything else down.

I wanted to add an extra 1Gb memory to my PC [...] When it arrived i put it inmy machine and BIOS instantly reported the exra 1Gb. but the machine failed to boot up into windows. It appears that the momory module is not compatible with the existing module in my PC. As it boots up ok on its own, although applications seem slower. :-(

I have never looked inside a computer before, but with on-line identification of the type of RAM i needed it was simply a case of plugging the new memory into a slot on the motherboard! If running 32bit XP, be wary of installing 4GB worth of DIMMs as I did. Although the normal limit that XP can address without using Physical Address Extension is about 3.25GB, I installed 4GB to keep balanced pairs of DIMMS knowing that I was "wasting" the last .75GB. In practice doing this killed (and I really do mean killed) machine performance whenever more than 1GB was consumed. Solution was to remove one DIMM leaving 3x1GB DIMMs installed and to consequently run them in single channel mode as they are now unbalanced (identical DIMMs, but unbalanced as there is an odd number of them). Running 3GB (therefore sitting .25GB underneath the 3.25GB ceiling) restored normal performance and in practice I cannot tell any difference from when I was running 2GB in dual channel mode anyway; just a huge performance gain when video editing with above 2GB RAM consumed now that I'm not swapping out to virtual memory on disk any more. FWIW my mobo is an ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium.
